Does anyone have a breakdown, if any, of the musicians used on the arrange side (Disc 2)? Furthermore, is there a musician listing for who is involved in "Project SATAN"? Someone with this album and or scans would clear this up.

It's not unlike Yonemitsu to record live musicians and not credited them in releases. There's a soprano sax on tracks 2 and tenor sax on 8 which I believe is Mitsuru Kanekuni. Also, there's violin on a couple other tracks.

Unfortunately the back scans we have only credit Project SATAN and Yonemitsu.
All I could find is this site: http://bsm11084.hp.infoseek.co.jp/91d.html
It says Michiko Aotani/青谷充子 did pipe organ for 2-4, maybe that info comes from the booklet.

Am I correct in assuming that 1.1-29 are Megami Tensei I, and 1.30-48 are Megami Tensei II? And if the track titles match up, 2.1-6, 8-10, and 12 are I while 2.7, 11, and 13 are II?

Actually 1.1-30 should be Megami Tensei II, and the rest I (it was a smaller game) I believe.

The tracklist had extra Japanese the back cover didn't. I guess they are included in the booklet since they are really widespread, but for now I've changed the tracklist to match the back scan.

I recently ordered this from Amazon Japan, still factory sealed, for 2993 yen. I wonder why this album is still available. Did it have an unusually large print run, or did it initially sell poorly?

Eirikr, thank you so much for putting these scans up. Saves a huge amount of time for OCD nuts like me who like to keep digital scans of music they physically own.

I added a separate scan of the obi. Even though "case front & case back" cover most of the obi, it misses the spine piece, so I put the whole thing there for the sake of über-completion.

No problem!

SMT1 and 2 are still coming, as I promised...3 months ago. SMT1 is practically done, actually. Maybe I should finish that tonight. Scanning just isn't that much fun. :P SMT2 even has 3 separate booklets to deal with.

I noticed the release price (incl. tax) differs between the back and the obi. The back cover says ¥3900, but the obi says ¥3975. What would be more correct?

3900 (before 1997 tax change) is the release price, 3975 is reprint price (after 1997 tax change)
so, 3900 is the one to use

This might be a weird question, but did anyone's copy come with a small foam insert on the second side protecting the CD (first side would have the booklet)?

Mine didn't, but the one I have is almost definitely a reprint since I only bought it a year or two ago new from Amazon. I have an older print from this same series though (Dragon Saber) and that came with the same kind of foam insert you described. Maybe they stopped including them because they can damage the discs if they start to deteriorate (I removed the one from my Dragon Saber album for this reason)

Now I'm intrigued, I suppose the reprint would have to be separated into a new entry. Would be interested to see the differences if they exist. I also saw the release be available rather recently so a reprint would explain the recent availability.

As for the foam, for some reason it hasn't deteriorated on mine yet, but it's very discoloured and flimsy.

The reprint uses the same catalog number and everything, so it shouldn't get a separate entry afaik. I think the only visible difference is the aforementioned tax change, but there were probably multiple prints of each with no other way to tell.

Yeah I just realised sealed copies of this are too easy to find which makes no sense.
It's just very confusing to keep all in the same entry, since you've got one made in 1991 and one made in, I don't know, 2000? 2005? 2015 ?? it's definitely a reprint, even though it keeps the same catalog number.

seems like we don't have a good way to highlight this kind of re-release/reprint, just like picture discs or changes in publishers (e.g. majora's mask). it's super messy going through the scans to realise there are different releases.
