We had a spammer sign up and send PMs to every member, so we figured we could launch an SQL query to delete them all. It appears it had some other effects, so there's more to fix.

The one saying Hi,
I'm new here, how's it going? It seems it also hits other vb forums as I got the PM at a football video game forum. |

The PM problem should be fixed. Please let me know if there are still issues with it.

Here's a small issue I just noticed. I don't think folders should count as albums when it comes to member collections. Example: I have 204 actual albums in my collection but on this page it says I have 206 because my two folders are being counted as albums. Also, Zhane Masaki's collection page lags the shit out of my Firefox.

I haven't worked on member collections for so long, heh. The code definitely needs an update, and the tree structure shouldn't be the default viewing mode (unless I can AJAXify it somehow).

I'm having problems adding scans to an album (the Muchi Muchi Pork OST, although which one shouldn't matter). I get the error "Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 11288 bytes) in /home/vgmdb/public_html/db/includes/thumbnailfunctions.php on line 21" whenever I try to upload one of the scans. It has to be a filesize/memory issue, since it works fine with smaller pics, but the scans I'm trying to upload are only 1.3 MB or so, which is definitely under the 4 MB limit or whatever.

I've upped the memory limit, try again.

I'm also having problems uploading scans. However I don't get any error messages, it just returns to the album page after finishing, but the new scans aren't there.
Maybe it's my ignorance, and scans have to be approved by the admins after uploading for them to be made public? |

Any scan uploaded by the public is immediately viewable, but staff can "undo" the upload during the approval process, which is all done behind the scenes. |

It's strange, because I don't have that slow of a connection, although it's true I uploaded several bigs ones at once. I'll try uploading one by one later and see how it turns out. EDIT: I uploaded a single scan now, and it definitely looks like it was a time out issue. So I'll be uploading some scans in smaller quantities. Last edited by Kewing; Feb 17, 2008 at 07:27 AM. |

I am getting this kind of errors:
"Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 22560 bytes) in /home/vgmdb/public_html/db/includes/thumbnailfunctions.php on line 21" When trying to upload booklet covers (if you ask, no they are not too large, and even 1 by 1 it's not working). |

Send the particular images that result in this error to me (via attachment or PM) so that I can troubleshoot.

For example for "No More Heroes": Here's Booklet pages 2&3 i can't upload.. |

Ah, I see the problem now.
It's to do with the image dimensions and the thumbnail functions in the cover upload system. When PHP tries to resize an image it doesn't matter as much how many megabytes the filesize is, it's the dimensions of the image. That particular image would put the script over the current memory limit (you can calculate it in bytes using the formula <height in pixels> * <width in pixels> * 4). However, since we were able to upload images of this size previously, I've gone ahead and upped the memory limit yet again. The image resizes fine now. http://vgmdb.net/db/covers.php?do=gallery&id=5585 |

I was thinking about that since it did the same with other #Gamemp3s covers.
Thanks for fixing it. |

I have some problems uploading scans as well, Blah. I'm trying to upload some 3330x2976 scans (about a MB each in size), but I keep getting the "There was an error during the uploading process." error message. Here are the scans in question: http://www.sendspace.com/file/81nv1d

Strange, looking at the error number it seems PHP wasn't able to write the file to disk. I changed the temp directory used for uploads, and now it seems to work fine.

Just got this error when trying to start a discussion for Lagoon from the album's page:

It looks like the threads are actually created; it just doesn't take you there. I'm not sure what's going on, but it looks like Blah was working on something related to these files, so I'll let him take a look at this one before I touch anything.

Copy command in foobar2k 0.9.5->
This isn't a bug really but I thought I'd mention it here.
I couldn't find copy command in the new foobar, but then I googled and found the solution. You might want to put a note of this to the Add a New Tracklist page, because it's now located on the File -> Preferences -> Advanced preferences page under "Display/Legacy title formatting settings/Copy command". Here's the reason why it's there: Quote:

Angle brackets aren't being escaped in tracklists. See this album for an example. Tracks 19, 25, and 26 have angle brackets in the track titles, so those parts of the titles end up not being shown when the page is displayed.

I took a look at the algorithm for assembling the collections for view, and made a few changes to speed it up. We should see about a factor of three speed improvement for collections with lots of albums and lots of folders (Zhane Masaki's). The main result is that it should be reasonable now. Please let me know if there are any funky issues that crop up in collections since this change.

Tried to upload the large version of the album cover for this new album: http://vgmdb.net/db/albums.php?id=7428
The scan seems to work when you view the gallery and then lick to enlarge the image or view it in the gallery directly, but the thumbnail is solid back. I uploaded and deleted it 3 times; this is the error message from the 3rd attempt I believe. I've left the image up after the last attempt: Quote:
