Default Star Trader (X68000)

I was actually looking for my old CD-R copy of the Music from Star Trader album (which I can´t remember ever having properly listened to but of which I do remember distinctly disliking the arrangements). I couldn´t find it so I checked youtube and stumbled upon the X68000 version and...I was shocked. I wasn´t prepared to find a gem, I just wanted to hear whether I could distinguish Mieko Ihikawa´s style here.

Well, this is definitely not Mieko Ishikawa or Falcom for that matter. The user claims the composer are Keishi Yonao and Yasuo Itoh. Carl mentioned this port in the original Music from Star Trader album thread, but I figured I´d make a new thread for this port.

Has anybody else heard this and/or is familiar with the composer(s)?

Here´s the link to the rip (only the first track is from the original I think):

Japanese sites have Yonao down for Star Trader, but the credits only mention Yasuo Itou, Hiroya Hatsushiba, and Takeshi Maruyama.

Default Aaah Yasuo Itou, Hiroya Hatsushiba, and Takeshi Maruyama...

I was able to sample some of Yonao's other works and I could not find any resemblence in musical style so those credits make more sense. Not that it matters any more or less given those three's total absence in vgm for the rest...

Oh well, thanks for the info!

Maybe they just arranged and/or added extra tracks to the X68000's soundtrack?

Arranged version of 'The Charge' from 'Music from Star Trader' (couldn't find the PC88 on YouTube).

I can now confirm that Yonao worked on this.

Default *Bumb*

3,5 years later, I now consider this one of my top 10 game soundtracks of all-time.

ps: also there is a proper rip on youtube now (on Falcom Music Channel).
