Tempted to bet that all the credits we will get is MUSIC BY SEGA. (and perhaps some liner commentary by some composers)

In ten years Wavemaster has released complete albums / anniversary boxes for the following Sega series:
2005: Space Harrier 2007: OutRun Monster World Hang-On After Burner Galaxy Force & Thunder Blade 2008: Golden Axe Phantasy Star Fantasy Zone Vermillion & Rent a Hero 2009: Shinobi Alex Kidd 2012: Bare Knuckle Not to mention many, many other releases (Sorcerian MD, the "Last Action Heroes" box, this one etc.) that pretty much have covered the entirety or Sega's arcade and consumer music history. Dare I say, the most glaring omission thus far is the Shining Force original series? Last edited by The Gambler; Dec 15, 2014 at 03:15 PM. |

And there's still the remainder of the Sonic series (Sonic 3/S&K, Knuckles Chaotix, Sonic 3d Blast) I hope there's a followup to this album, but now I'm doubtful. You'd think it would have been announced by now. |

Yes; however, while with Disney I imagine there might be copyright problems (the music could probably be published but the games's artwork should require a license renewal I guess. [unless you go the Yuzo Koshiro Best Collection or Clarice Sunsoft Rom Cassette way and just omit the copyrighted material]; with Shining Force, which is wholly owned by Sega, It's strange that an album hasn't surfaced yet.

So what's the deal with the E-SWAT music suddenly being credited to Chikako "Tarnya" Kamatani, when the game's credits list "Dolphin" and "Middle Village"? Are they lying now or were they lying then (betting on the latter)?
Also disappointed in seeing "SEGA" under "Mega Q" instead of confirmation of the musicians behind Shinobi III.

1). I'm fairly certain the credits here are compiled from staff rolls, because a lot of these Sega compilation albums don't have credits.
2). Tarnya did the SMS version of E-SWAT, so someone botched that. |

Party Quiz MEGA Q has music done solely by Hirofumi Murasaki. I believe the other two guys he worked with were credited as sound producers or something.

Do you think it's just a coincidence that the booklet only states that You Takada did the music for ESWAT? Could Takayuki Nakamura have only been responsible for sound effects? Or did I simply misunderstand the entire thing...

Nakamura has said he wrote music for E-SWAT, so seems like an error.

Looking through the booklet, I noticed one of Sachio Ogawa's listed works is Kujakuou 2 (aka MYSTIC DEFENDER). I assume the 2 is an error, since that game's credits have Tarnya listed as song writer. Also a bit odd that Ryu ga Gotoku ISHIN! is listed, since I think his only known music for that is Keitarou Hanada's rearrangement of For Whose Sake, although maybe he worked on smaller music that didn't make the soundtrack albums.

So does this mean Sachio Ogawa is the one who composed the music for the Sega Game Library music? Also, does anyone know what the deal was when the wrong Hyper Marbles soundtrack was going around with the Library music included, but it was sped up? Were the sped up versions of those tracks ever used for anything or was that just a messed up file?
