This album is not an official release. It is some American idiot trying to make money with poor resynthed versions of some Final Fantasy tunes. It should be listed as 'doujin' (or maybe 'bootleg' but it doesn't quite count).

Actually this is a re-release of "The Best of Final Fantasy 1994–1999: A Musical Tribute" (EAZ-4032)
And yes, none of them are official. This is just a tribute album by Sherman F. Heinig
However... I think some tracks really nice

Though it looks like the re-release got an additional track.

I always wondered whether Stephen Kennedy gave permission for the use of that bonus track. After all, Sherman sold the album under false advertising (The Hollywood Symphony Orchestra and Chorus was just synth) and I don't think he got the proper permissions. The album is just an abomination.

I was an active Project Majestic Mix board member in its earlier days, and thought I'd clear things up.

The producer of this album did in fact contact Stephen Kennedy before the release of Project Majestic Mix's first album (A Tribute to Nobuo Uematsu). He wanted to see if Stephen or anyone else at Project Majestic Mix had any finished tracks to include on this album, and evidently Alexandria (Vivi's Theme) was indeed complete.

So that's how this album has one track that actually does sound like it came from a real orchestra, rather than the annoyingly synthesized one that "performs" the rest of the tracks.

Nice, in other words the whole title is a scam.
