Yeah that seems weird that they would not release the second volume like they did the first as a single CD.

But this might be a new trend for Hiroyuki Sawano's music. Guilty crowns soundtrack had a similar deal where the first soundtrack was released then the rest of the music was released in enclosures. I figured that was just because aniplex was in charge of publishing the music but i guess pony canon is on that money train as well (refering to using well known composers to make more people buy your blueray/dvd enclosures).

I don't really care though i just hope that we get vocal-less versions of Vogel im Käfig and Attack on Titan here or later down the road.

Maybe because it's like 30 minutes shorter than the first soundtrack. Sawano says it's often difficult to include all the songs on a single soundtrack but he is sometimes able to release the extra tracks on a bonus CD like with Guilty Crown.

Samples can be heard here: http://visual.ponycanyon.co.jp/picku...al2/pcxg50274/

Edit: Oh, and going by the recording date in the track titles we can figure that 2,3,5,6,7,9 are tracks that they weren't able to include on the first soundtrack and 1,4,8,10,11 are the additional tracks that he was asked to write later on.

Lol it's kind of weird that the 2nd OST pretty much had all the scans necessary for a stand alone release (credits, album art, tray, back etc were all included).

If only ALL enclosures treated osts with this much dignity

They probably are. I wonder if he names all his files like he names his tracks

It's the date the track was recorded, not composed.

After looking at the "Guilty Crown Soundtrack Another Side 2" tracklist, I realized that the mix of letters in the track names must be instruments, and so far I've figured out that: st = strings, gt = guitar, hrn = horn, pf = pianoforte, and so far the tracklist looks like this:

However, I'm unable to figure out what "egt", "vc" and "vn" stand for.
I thought vc could stand for vocal, but the track doesn't feature any vocals.
vn looks like it could stand for violin, but I can't confirm this, and I have no idea what egt stands for.
Does anybody else know?

egt: Electric Guitar

vn: Violin

There is a nice thread with most abbreviations explained in the guide forum: http://vgmdb.net/forums/showthread.php?t=6182
