Why did you change the tracklist language?

Yes, it may be in English/French but it is the tracklist for a Japanese release. Listing it otherwise is only confusing.

Doesn't matter if it's a tracklist for japanese release. Current change is correct with it's English/French.

Then what is currently accepted as correct is flawed.

Let's do an example: A Japanese release has an English language tracklist. The tracklist is submitted as English.

How is someone to easily know whether the tracklist was originally in English or not? Submitting the tracklist as Japanese clears up any confusion.

And a real example:

http://vgmdb.net/album/7272
http://vgmdb.net/album/23003

Both of these Japanese releases have a single English tracklist. One of these tracklists was originally in English, but the other used katakana for one of it's tracks.

As far as I know, there is currently no way to distinguish which one was originally in English and which one used katakana. This is an issue.

If the tracklist originally in English was listed as Japanese, there would no longer be a problem because you would be able to see that it was originally in English.

the thing you don't know is the tracklist system will change soon, replacing stuff like "Japanese" by something like "Original" (the way of naming is still undecided)

for now, just name "Japanese" if there is/are jap in the tracklist or the closest languages used for it

This is a limitation in the current system. We need a way to mark a tracklist as "original", and I think this'll be implemented in the planned overhaul of tracks/tracklists, but I think that is a long way off. We pretty much have to make due with this minor inconsistency for now, and just use English for tracklists that are entirely western as printed.

Perhaps a temporary solution could be adding "(Original)" to the end.
