Says something here about Takenouchi being in charge of synthesiser operation, possibly arrangement? There are some credits on the back scan that are hard to make out, but his name doesn't appear to be there.

He could have been in charge of programming the synthesizer. The credits on the back scan have Koichi Sugiyama as the composer while the other two contribute track commentary (one of them is 田口泰宏 / Yasuhiro Taguchi, who is credited as music programmer).

I've been trying to determine which company made this game and it doesn't seem that ENIX was involved. I've narrowed it down to either SSI or ASCII Entertainment. Do you know?

Not sure, but there is an SSI logo on the back scan.

After more checks...
I'd say: SSI "Strategic Simulations, Inc."

Also, this is not a PC game, but a NEC PC-9801 game, as shown on this video.

I agree.

It's listed at gamefaqs under SSI (1988), which makes the most sense. I've never bothered to look into the differences between developer and publisher and it seems my organization (of my collection) has been a little inaccurate. That's assuming gamefaqs is accurate. (Wikipedia wasn't much help in this case.)

For example, I always thought that ENIX made Dragon Quest, but according to gamefaqs, Chunsoft made it.

I'm certain that the booklet misprinted / swapped tracks 8 and 9.

As Printed:
08 Our Favorite
09 Alien Labyrinth

But on the Disc, 08 is dark and brooding, and 09 is a peppy bar/lounge theme.
So they've got them swapped.

Not to mention, the English printed on the back doesn't seem that great.
(It's probably closer to "Cheers to Dosnevian Brandy" instead of "Our Favorite")
