Artist: 水谷真希 (trumpet player) = Maki Mizutani Source 1 (Self-explanatory) No luck with any other artist of this album. CLAYMORE TV Animation O. S. T. Cyber Troopers Virtual-On "Cyber Net Rhapsody." ~Episode #14~ Artist: 大貫貴裕 (composer) = Takahiro Ohnuki (The family name is confirmed by a comment of Kazutoshi Yokoyama on his blog, he was part of a band called qbe in which 大貫貴裕 also collaborated) Source 1 (It's a sort of profile page) D.C. ~Da Capo~ Original Sound Track Vol. 1 AMOROSO Artist: 秋月良太 (guitar player) = Ryota Akizuki Source 1 (Name written in katakana) Source 2 (Facebook account) Final Fantasy Vocal Collections II "Love Will Grow" Artist: 遠藤昭浩 (guitar player) = Akihiro Endo Source 1 (Live performance of his band) GOD EATER Original Soundtrack Artist: 岡部麿知 (violin player) = Machi Okabe Source 1 (Already in the database) Artist: 川口静香 (violin player) = Shizuka Kawaguchi Source 1 (Credited as violinist) More to come... Definitely (I'd have made artist entries for these): Masakazu Kudo, Ryota Akizuki, Maki Mitani, Shizuka Kawaguchi
Likely (I'd have left the names in Japanese, but posted the guesses and info in the album threads): Fumio Nishiyama, Maki Mizutani, Akihiro Endo 大貫貴裕: I've had DrillSpin come up a few times while searching for readings myself, but I'm not sure how reliable it is: verified submissions, machine-generated guesses like Anison Generation and ErogeTrailers, etc. JASRAC does have "Takahiro Onuki" registered as the reaing for that name too, although it's not without mistakes. Likely. 岡部麿知: I'm pretty sure 麿知 is just mistranscribed from the God Eater booklet, because it looks like it could be the correct 磨知 to me. Definitely Machi Okabe. Quote:
本間共子 (tambourine, chappa): Tomoko Homma Source 森田和子 I wonder if this is a misprint in the booklet, since I'm having no luck connecting this name to any of the other musicians, or even a violinist period. I don't have any guesses about who it could be if it's a typo. |

Definitely: Yasushi Fujisawa, Noriko Saito, Shu Yamaga, Yoshiko Uchida, Atsuhide Nakayama, Yuya Tanaka, Hanae Haruki (in English with Seiko Oonuki on a Yui Makino single)
Likely: Kumiko Ochi, Mayu Kodera, Miho Yamashita, Naoyuki Matsui Atsuhide Nakayama: Generasia source seems suspect, since it got Chiyomaru Shikura's family name rather wrong ("Yukisou"). ZIZZ connection with Atsuhide Nakayama on Under Defeat is definitely good, though: http://www.zizz-studio.com/information.php?id=218 confirms it. 片山耕一: I saw the drummer too when working on that album, but that's too much of a stretch. I agree that "Kouichi Katayama" is the most likely reading. Quote:
And just to clarify: when I think a reading is only "likely," it's usually not because I think you found a bad source, but because I couldn't connect the artist to the composer/fellow performers or to other games/anime. Japan's a country of 120+ million people, so I personally try to look for a little more than just someone with the same name playing the same instrument. |

Kaicho ha Maid Sama! Original Soundtrack
Artist: 石井淳 (guitar player) = Jun Ishii ?? (With such a common name is hard to find specific connections) Source 1 (I think it's him but... no further proofs) La croisée dans un labyrinthe étranger Original Soundtrack Artist: 千葉はな (composer, lyricist) = Chiba Hana Source 1 (Official site) Source 2 (Credited alongside Youmou to Ohana) Artist: 市川和則 (arranger) = Kazunori Ichikawa Source 1 (Hey, look that, the same as before) Source 2 (It seems that someone did his job) By the way, in this album appears mentioned "日本古謡" which just means the famous japanese folk song called "Sakura, Sakura (Cherry Blossom)". Definitely: Chiba Hana, Kazunori Ichikawa (no-brainers, heh)
石井淳: It seems that this guitarist works with Wataru Maeguchi a lot. I went through all the scans we have of Maeguchi's albums, but unfortunately it seems he's always credited in kanji. Yeah. Likewise, track 21 is credited as a "French folk song." |

Library War original SOUNDTRACK
Artist: 内田大輔 (dj) = Daisuke Uchida? (Not confirmed) Source 1 (His facebook account?) Source 2 (Here he's listed alongside his partner, 山田雅俊, both of them under the mysterious label "nuwork". I haven't found anything about this nuwork label/company/group but it's worthy to note it). Lupin the Third: Lupin ni wa Shi wo, Zenigata ni wa Koi wo Original Soundtracks Artist: 川濑正人 (percussionist) = Masato Kawase Source 1 (Yeah, 川濑正人 it's probably a typo, but also might be a variation. Anyway, it's him, no doubt). Mobile Suit Z Gundam: A New Translation ~A New Translation Review~ [Limited Edition] Artist: 中根洋介 (oboe player) = Yosuke Nakane Source 1 (Myspace profile) Source 2 (This is what leads me to believe it's another typo or variation [中根庸介]. Too similar to be a coincidence, don't you think?) Source 3 (twitter account) Monopoly String Quartet Compositions Artist: 大沢 浄 (violin player) = Kiyoshi Osawa Source 1 (Another Sugiyama album and he's credited as violinist. That's what I call a suspicious connection) Source 2 (Appears credited, and Hiroto Kawamura, too but the quality of this source it's a bit doubtful) Artist: 大沢 浄 (viola player) = Hiroshi Watanabe Source 1 (Hiragana reading) Source 2 (Drillspin profile confirming his name) Source 3 (Credited along with Sugiyama) Artist: (cello player) = Hiroto Kawamura Source 1 (Hiragana reading) Source 2 (Credited alongside Takashi Kato) Last edited by isdapi; Mar 17, 2014 at 01:20 AM. |

Definitely: Masato Kawase (correct in the booklet), Kiyoshi Osawa, Hiroshi Watanabe, Hiroto Kawamura (Takashi Kato, Watanabe, and Kawamura were also part of a string quartet for Raystorm)
Likely: Yosuke Nakane (I think the booklet is in error too) Quote:

Also, I found this useful information about the matter: http://jds-concert.blogspot.com/2009/07/20095.html It's listed a performance of this artist along with 小川美香子, who very likely is Mikako Ogawa (marimba/hackbrett performance). Well, in the first link you provided Mikako appears too (credited in similar fashion), so I think this can be considered a rather conclusive proof of her name. |

musica / Hiroyuki Sawano
Artist: 小田原豐 (drums player) = Yutaka Odawara Source 1 (Official website) Source 2 (Credited alongside Takeshi Taneda who works in this album too) Source 3 (Another typo or variation? 小田原 豊 seems to indicate that) my life / alan Artist: 中村康成 (arranger, keyboard, programming, synth) = Yasunari Nakamura Source 1 (Credited in several albums) Source 2 (Playing synths and keyboards) Artist: 宮川ユカ (lyricist) = Yuka Miyakawa Source 1 (Profile in musicman-net) Source 2 (More works of her. Also, she's commonly credited as Yuka Miyagawa, surely incorrectly, though) Artist: 新井“ラーメン”健 (guitar player) = Takeshi Arai Source 1 (Sort of personal profile. His name it's confirmed in hiragana. Btw, his alias probably means "ramen") Nagasarete Airantou Character Image Album: Kichatte Shima no Oto Vol.1 Artist: 茂戶藤浩司 (taiko player) = Hiroshi Motofuji Source 1 (Look at the credits of Concert-2) Source 2 (What surprise, one more typo. 中村康成: Transcription is incorrect. Booklet says 中村康就, who is indeed Yasunari Nakamura. Quote:
浜田大地: Big transcription mistake here. Should be 浜崎大地, who is Daichi Hamasaki. His profile here says he toured with alan in 2010: http://www.interq.or.jp/yellow/daich...le-daichi.html. 秋月良夫: Another error. Booklet says 秋月良太, who is one of your earlier findings, Ryota Akizuki. |

CHOCOBO NO FUSHIGINA DUNGEON: COI VANNI GIALLI
Artist: 根本進一郎 (violin player) = Shinichiro Nemoto Source 1 (MPN, as usual) Source 2 (Drillspin profile) Source 3 (It's not the first time that I use this album's credits as source) Artist: 益田みどり (violin player) = Midori Masuda Source 1 (Drillspin profile) Source 2 (The always useful MPN reference) Artist: 岩岡昌義 (horn player) = Masayoshi Iwaoka Source 1 (Member of the Japanisch-Deutschen-Horn-Club) Source 2 (Same source but translated into english. I think this source it's pretty accurate, the romanization of the musician names are consistent with other sources) Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl The Movie: 'The Ruler of Illusions: Zoroark' Music Collection Artist: 沢頭尊志 (guitar player) = Takashi Sawagashira Source 1 Source 2 Professor Layton and the Last Specter Original Soundtrack Artist: 藤美智子 (flute player) = Michiko Toh Source 1 (CHz almost got it right, at least he was nearer than me. Definitely: Takashi Sawagashira
Likely: Nobuko Yamamoto, Misako Sato, Yumi Arai, Mika Osawa, Akira Sasaki, Yukiyoshi Arimasa, Shinichiro Nemoto, Midori Masuda, Masayoshi Iwaoka, Michiko Toh (nice) Maybe: Fuyuko Horie 市ノ瀬洋一: Youichi Ichinose seems likely. The booklet says 市ノ瀬, but I think that name is supposed to be 市之瀬洋一 (definitely read Youichi Ichinose) of Voice Field: http://www.voice-field.jp/produce/produce-frameset.html. He's credited as the chorus leader in the credits of Pandora's Tower you linked, and his Voice Field profile says he's worked as a solo and chorus vocalist. The thing that gives me a little bit of doubt is that the Voice Field Ichinose is credited as "Youichi Ichinose" while the tenor is credited as "Yoichi Ichinose." It could be that they were just sloppy with the credits, or maybe they really are two different people. 大野祥孝: Kotenha is not very reliable. I see a couple of mistakes in that entry alone: "Ken Osada" instead of Susumu Osada and "Masaru Hoshi" instead of Katsu Hoshi. Yoshitaka Ono is a pretty likely reading, though. There's a keyboardist Yoshitaka Ohno with the same name 大野祥孝 who's part of the bands ANKH and GANGS, but I'm not sure if that's the same person. |

Quiz Magic Academy VII Original Soundtrack
Artist: 遠部佳代子 (flute player) = Kayoko Obe Source 1 (Credited as member of Ensemble Canalize) Source 2 (Romanized names of its members) Artist: 佐藤友美 (flute player) = Yumi Sato Source 1 (Profile with available reading of her name: さとうゆみ) Source 2 (It's the Ameba blog of this artist, also flutist and also performing in this album, is linked to the ameba page of 佐藤 友美/Yumi Sato) Artist: 篠塚恵子 (clarinet player) = Keiko Shinozuka Source 1 (Facebook account) Source 2 (Different source, same romanization) Quiz Magic Academy VIII Original Soundtrack Artist: 鶴薗明人 (flute player) = Akihito Tsuruzono Source 1 (Facebook acount) Source 2 (Flute score publication by him. Here the actual score) Source 3 (Twitter account for reference) Ragnarok the Animation Sound Track & Character Songs (Also credited here) Artist: 齋藤篤 (ukelele & guitar player) = Atsushi Saito Source 1 (A western website crediting him, that's interesting) Source 2 (Scan where you can see him credited, but only in kanji) Source 3 (The game credits of Samurai Western. He appears credited as Atsusi Saito for Acoustic Guitar performance. In spite of naming him Atsusi instead of Atsushi, I think it's safe to assume that Atsushi Saito is his real name) REIDEEN Original Soundtrack -Dream Orchestra- Artist: 松田裕子 (flute player) = Yuko Matsuda Source 1 (Sort of personal profile) Source 2 (Credited for flute performance) Last edited by isdapi; Apr 16, 2015 at 12:11 AM. |

Sakura Taisen 3 Music Collection Paris Music Hall (Here too)
Artist: 三畑貞次 (guitar player) = Teiji Mihata Source 1 (I strongly believe that 三畑貞次 is only a variation of 三畑貞二, or a mistake, as you prefer...) Source 2 (... Because he had already participated in an album along with Kouhei Tanaka in 1985, "MAGICIAN / MAGICAL DREAM SHOW". In this page, and only in this page, also appears a suspicious guy named Teiji Mitsuhata, who I think is just a bad romanization of the artist in question) Sakura Taisen Complete Vocal Collection Artist: 山下貴久子 (chorus, vocal performance) = Kikuko Yamashita Source 1 (MPN reference) Source 2 (DrillSpin profile) Artist: 松下美音 (chorus, vocal performance) = Mine Matsuki Source 1 (In this album she is credited along with Kikuko Yamashita. Her correct kanji form is 松木美音) I haven't found a romanization for 清水太郎, but at least I got his twitter. Seikai no Senki II Original Soundtrack Artist: 鈴木直樹 (synthesizer operator) = Naoki Suzuki Source 1 (This sounds familiar, isn't it?) Source 2 (List of albums where he has collaborated) Seikai no Senki Original Soundtrack Artist: 杉山武陽 (synthesizer operator) = Takeaki Sugiyama Source 1 (A little profile, although it's interesting to note that his alias is thunder [サンダー]) Source 2 (Credited three times as TAKEAKI "THUNDER" SUGIYAMA) Seirei no Moribito Original Sound Track Volume Two Artist: 金美仙 (kayagum/gayageum player) = キム・ミソン (I'm no expert in Korean names, so I'm leaving this in katakana, but I think this could be romanized as Kim Mi-seong or Kim Mi Sun) Source 1 Sexy.Honey.Bunny! / Takara no Ishi Artist: 飯岡隆志 (composer) = Takashi Iioka Source 1 (Musicman-net profile) Source 2 (Personal website) Artist: 西寺郷太 (lyricist) = Gota Nishidera Source 1 (Facebook account) Source 2 (Credited alongside corin) Last edited by isdapi; Apr 26, 2015 at 11:16 PM. |

Shin Momotaro Densetsu
Artist: 太田幸子 (shamisen player) = Yukiko Ota Source 1 (Now she's known as Nami Kineie but it's the same artist) Source 2 (In japanese if you want to verify the kanji) Source 3 (Maybe not the most reliable web, but here she is credited in an album alongside several artists who also performed on Shin Momotaro Densetsu) Shirokishi Monogatari -Inishie no Kodou- ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK Artist: 福森篤志 (chorus, vocal performance) = Atsushi Fukumori Source 1 (Credited in romanized form in the ending staff roll of the game) Artist: 岡本隆 (chorus, vocal performance) = Ryu Okamoto Source 1 (Credited in romanized form in the ending staff roll of the game) Soukyuu no Fafner HEAVEN AND EARTH Original Soundtrack Artist: 小貫誉 (trumpet player) = Homare Onuki Source 1 (Mini biography. It says he is mainly a studio recording musician) Source 2 (His twitter. Just look at tphomma, that guy also worked in this album) SOUND COLLECTION OF GUNBUSTER Artist: 瀧本秀延 (drum player) = Hidenobu Takimoto (Alias or variation of Toshinobu Takimoto) Source 1 (Another time this source appears, and for the same reason, only in this album H.T. and Kouhei Tanaka got credited together, "MAGICIAN / MAGICAL DREAM SHOW" again) Source 2 Source 3 (Other albums where a guy named Hidenobu Takimoto performs as drummer) Artist: 横山俊明 = 横山俊朗 = Toshiro Yokoyama Source 1 His homepage, he's a regular member or the NHK Symphony Orchestra with several collaborations with other violinists of this album. In this case the typo of a single kanji changes all, but the absolute lack of credits as violinist for someone named 横山俊明 is definitive to discard that reading. Artist: 飯島三喜雄 (violin player) = Mikio Iijima Source 1 (DrillSpin profile) Source 2 (Hiragana reading provided by MPN) Source 3 (This pretty much explains his link with Yoshiaki Tomoda) Artist: 清家一恵 (violin player) = Kazue Seike Source 1 (Hiragana reading courtesy of MPN) Source 2 (DrillSpin profile. Btw, MPN and DrillSpin are related or what, because they have almost identical artist databases) Artist: 清家孝子 (violin player) = Takako Seike Source 1 (Hiragana reading courtesy of MPN) Source 2 (Surprise, surprise! Same deal as before) Artist: 高木敏行 (violin player) = Toshiyuki Takagi Source 1 (MPN, you know the rest...) Source 2 (Album credits of a tv soundtrack. At least the information seems reliable) Artist: 山田健一 (violin player) = Kenichi Yamada Source 1 (I bet you know what it is... MPN, of course) Artist: 鈴木弘一 (violin player) = Koichi Suzuki Source 1 (MPN obligatory reference) Source 2 (Member of the huge uchida strings) Artist: 中川潔 (violin player) = Kiyoshi Nakagawa Source 1 (Yeah, guess what) Artist: 伊藤正 (viola player) = Tadashi Ito Source 1 (MPN as usual) Source 2 (Credited in a jazz album as Tadashi Itoh) Source 3 (Viola teacher, Tadashi Itoh again) Artist: 岡本和夫 (cello player) = Kazuo Okamoto Source 1 (DrillSpin profile) Source 2 (Prominent artist in the jazz scene, but here is credited in a film soundtrack) Artist: 石橋正治 (flute player) = Masaharu Ishibashi Source 1 (Missing it, eh?) Source 2 (Profiles of various flutists, amongst them M.I.) Source 3 (Credited in a rock album!? Wow, that was unsuspecting but, after all, we're talking about the seventies) Still no luck with: 大野順三 and 丸里澄 (the lack of results as musicians for these two names seems to indicate that some kanji in their names is a typo) Last edited by isdapi; Feb 8, 2016 at 04:15 PM. |

Hey, I finally caught up. (In the future, I think I'll just post what I have when I stop instead of waiting until I fully catch up with everything before posting.)
And yeah dancey, I'll take a look. You're in for a lot of hurt from that box, aren't you. Definitely: Kayoko Obe (Naoko Yamamoto of the same ensemble lists QMA7 on her profile), Atsusi Saito (si and shi are the same sound し), Naoki Suzuki, Takashi Iioka, Gota Nishidera, Yukiko Ota, Mikio Iijima, Takako Seike, Katsu Watanabe, Yukako Funahashi (yeah that's her abandoned blog, and her old site said she attended the New England Conservatory), Junko Naka, Naoki Ishiyama, Keita Miyahara (mistranscription), Hiroshi Araki, Tae Iijima (incidentally, mistranscribed), Hisae Usami (also mistranscribed) Likely: Yusuke Goto, Yumi Sato, Keiko Shinozuka, Yuko Matsuda, Teiji Mihata (unusual name, probably an error yeah), Kikuko Yamashita, Atsushi Fukumori, Homare Onuki, Kazue Seike, Toshiyuki Takagi, Kenichi Yamada, Koichi Suzuki, Kiyoshi Nakagawa, Tadashi Itoh, Kazuo Okamoto, Masaharu Ishibashi, Shinsaku Tokuda, Sei Hatano (I don't trust Kotenha at all, but I would be shocked if this name were read any other way) I don't know enough about Chinese & Korean names either: 金美仙 杉山武陽: Takeaki Sugiyama definitely seems more likely for this guy given the sources you found. The Crest of the Stars OST credits him in Japanese, not as "Takeharu," so I got rid of that for now. 瀧本秀延: I'm not certain this is the same person as Toshinobu Takimoto, but the names are eerily similar and they're both apparently drummers. Toshinobu writes his Takimoto slightly differently (滝本), and I don't think Toshinobu's 季延 is readable as Hidenobu nor 秀延 as Toshinobu, so if they are the same person, then either they botched his name pretty badly in the Gunbuster album or he intentionally used a different name. 齋藤善彦: Yoshihiko Saito is the most likely reading of that name, so I think you're probably right about the other two albums. I did find a few references to a horn player 斉藤善彦 too, with a simpler version of Saito. |

I've completed the disc 2 credits, as well. CHz, I appreciate you taking a look at it when you get a chance. Apologies in advance because a lot of the artists are shared between disc 1 and disc 2, and even between the two different disc 2 recording sessions, so I just copied and pasted the research info if I already had researched it. It's not broken out into unique artists but I'm sure you'll be able to identify which ones you've already checked.

Artist: 鹤来 正基 (piano player) = Masaki Tsurugi Source 1 (Striking similar names) Source 2 Source 3 (Nobuo Nakahara, who also performs on The Heroic Legend of Arslān, and Masaki Tsurugi have worked together in a few albums) The Candidate For Goddess Original Soundtrack Artist: 小杉眞子 (piano player) = Shinko Ogata Source 1 (I guess it's easy to confuse 杉 with 形) Source 2 (On this album it's credited as 小杉眞子 and this album is also mentioned on the personal site of Shinko Ogata) Top wo Nerae 2! Original Soundtrack Artist: 佐沼美千代 (horn player) = Michiyo Sanuma Source 1 (DrillSpin profile) Source 2 (MPN for good measure) TV Anime Hoshi no Kirby Original Soundtrack Artist: 浜崎由起 = 濱崎由紀 (clarinet player) = Yuki Hamasaki Source 1 (I'm quite sure that 濱崎由紀 it's this artist true name. Just compare the matches you found with "浜崎由起" and with "濱崎由紀", it's quite revealing) Source 2 (濱崎由紀 and 十亀正司 [Masashi Togame] are mentioned as clarinet instructors of 安藤綾花, so maybe they have more in common than just this album) 11eyes Opening Theme "Lunatic Tears..." / Ayane Artist: 北村真 (guitar player) = Shin Kitamura (Not enough information) Source 1 (His defunct website. A little profile of this artist is available in english. It says that he's a support guitarist in live performances and studio recordings) Witch Hunter ROBIN ORIGINAL SOUND SCORE 1 Artist: 宮内寛之 (horn player) = Hiroyuki Miyauchi Source 1 (I cannot say for certain whether it's a picture of this artist but it's quite likely, anyway he works as an horn instructor) Source 2 (Member of the Japanisch-Deutsche Horn Club, and I think I can recognize him next to the little girl, first photo) Source 3 (Information of his Facebook account: 東京芸術大学 ホルン専攻 [Horn Department], and his romanized account) Last edited by isdapi; Feb 12, 2016 at 01:59 AM. |
