Regarding edits to the reading of this name, is "Jigokusha" confirmed anywhere? I really haven't researched him, so I don't know if that's ever been officially used by Konami, but "Jigokuguruma" appears in the credits of Dracula X68000: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nr7-bpadeGg#t=3m36s

This seems to be a transcription of the document file included in Akumajo Dracula X68000 and he himself gives Jigokuguruma as the reading. Quote:

Btw, like Chris said here, I'm still wondering if Jigokuguruma is in fact Keizou Nakamura...

My mistake, I'll change everything to Jigokuguruma. At least we have solid confirmation now.

It's really weird. But in this case I prefer to copy the entire Kanji Name in the Given Name field to not cause any confusion with the hiragana reading. I'm going to change to 地狱车中村. If you search in Google, 中村地狱车 shows up in only one website. If anyone has any objection please let me know.

Good finding! I hope someone can ask him directly to confirm. I really couldn't find another clue besides the similar family name.

Other piece to the puzzle:
Akumajo Dracula X68000's original release credits Jigokugurama Nakamura, while the PS Akumajo Chronicles rerelease changes it to Jigokuokusama Iizuka for no apparent reason. But, since Jigokuokusama=Jigoku-okusama, okusama=wife, it could mean "she" married a Mr. Iizuka. (or maybe it's an in joke...) EDIT: also, if Nakamura worked on Gradius 3 (it could have been Kozo Nakamura though), his nickname was "La Nakamur". Last edited by Dag; Apr 16, 2011 at 12:25 PM. |

There's also a Hiroshi Iizuka credited for music in Castlevania Chronicles alongside Sota Fujimori. He's not mentioned on the OST, but he's in the game. Possibly a connection?

Very interesting details, Dag and Raizen1984.
There is a discussion in this japanese message board regarding this question: http://2chz.org/thread.php/game/game...1293816887/l50 |

I think it's now totally safe to conclude he is Keizo Nakamura, as these tweets from akiropito look definitive.

Is there a reason why we haven't put the kanji and hiragana parts of the names in respective given / family name fields?

It looks like it's because he always writes this name backwards (family name last), and that's how it shows on every source.

Nickname + family name in that order is a pretty common alias format, especially in the '80s/early '90s Konami sound team. I can think of more than ten other KKC members who had a similar deal. (Just randomly go through the list here, chances are you'll hit a few.)

And since it's a nickname, it doesn't actually belong in the "given name" field. Maybe we should add a separate field for that.
Example: http://vgmdb.net/db/artists-submit.php?do=edit&id=10903 If you put チャーリー in given name, the full japanese name would show as 田中チャーリー, which is wrong. |
