Official game credits for both the US AND Japanese versions of the game
http://themushroomkingdom.net/credits/mk64 Julien Bardakoff - Europe - Screen text writer for Super Mario 64 - Luigi, by process of elimination Thomas Spindlor (aka. Thomas Spindler in Super Mario 64) - Europe - German Translation for Super Mario 64 - Most likely person to voice Wario, as he sounds likes he has a German accent. Tomoko Maruno ([Former] Voice of Kinopio) is also known as Eriko Ibe in the Mario Party games. John Huraton - No other credits to name - The announcer in the Japanese version, simply because he's the only other male. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lh-Bhouvej8 EDIT: I'm an idiot. Those Yoshi sounds have been around since Super Mario World, meaning Koji Kondo (sound composer of SMW) is Yoshi's voice (aka Yoshi's voice is just SFX). http://nintendo.wikia.com/wiki/Mario_Kart_64 ---> Under Trivia Based on Mario Kart 64 on Club Circuit (which only mentions Taro Bando for sounds) and this page (http://www.themushroomkingdom.net/mkdd_credits.shtml), it also appears that Taro Bando does all the actual SE in the Mario Kart series. Yoji Inagaki just appears to be the programmer, especially since both him and Taro are listed as such here (http://www.themushroomkingdom.net/mk64_credits.shtml) Here they are both listed as Sound Engineers, with Taro specified as a Sound Programmer, but that only furthers his significance in the sound department, as Sound Programmer > Sound Engineer. http://www.giantbomb.com/mario-kart-...10084/credits/ Yoji Inagaki did the SE in Super Mario 64, with Hideaki Shimizu being the sound programmer, so that's another probable reason why Yoji's in the sound credits with Taro (only if there are any SM64 sounds in there). Tetris Attack has Isaac Marshall as a voice, but he has been confirmed as Kamek there, and Bowser sounds completely different (someone else did him). **Phil Sandhop (a voice from Tetris Attack) is mentioned in the Special Thanks section for Mario Kart 64, but just the US Version. He only does script/manual/screen text roles in other games, though. He is not in SMW. **Armond Williams Jr. (another Tetris Attack voice) is listed in quite a few Rare (DK) games, but he's just a Game Tester/Special Thanks lackey. I think Charles Martinet did Donkey Kong's voice for Mario Kart 64 as well. Someone on YouTube said Charles stated that on his Facebook (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39b-wt6FSc8). I don't know where exactly, but it seems legit as mariowiki.com also have him listed for doing Donkey Kong's voice: http://www.mariowiki.com/Charles_Martinet
So I changed that in the notes. In fact, I've remade the whole voice section notes as I thought it was a little redundant / messy, so I'll keep the old text here for preservation. Quote:
EDIT: Made an edit on the literal tracklist translation, too. One of the kanji for both track 19 and 20 were wrong (now 表彰式 instead of 表彰台), so naturally the translation was a little inaccurate, too (now "Awards Ceremony" instead of "Podium"). Last edited by Nisto; Aug 15, 2012 at 06:30 PM. |

Cleaned the information slightly to fully reflect the liner notes.
I was confused by "Original Game Sound Effects", which is the credit for "SE". It makes sense in my opinion, to have this under the STAFF notes. I've also replaced the track names in the extra arrangement note, to show the track numbers instead, which is an easier reference. |
