Context sensitive search bar

I think it would be neat if the search box at top would search different tables based on the page you are viewing.

For example, when viewing the artists page, the search box could search artists. When viewing the users page, it could search users. An icon could be added to the right side of the box showing what current context it is searching on.

Well, I mean, you could do that, or you could add a dropdown allowing the simplest targeted searches (album, artist, organization, etc.) with the default setting being the current search parameters. On the negative side of the current default search is that it can't search for artists, but if that issue is a matter of not taxing the site's speed, then that's OK.

Gigablah can probably make some changes to the querying for the "quick search" bar. Otherwise, you should go to Advanced Search.

The context-sensitive search bar that Kaleb.G is describing is very bad UI behavior. That will confuse users a lot. It would be better to expand the search algorithm underneath to include the artists database table.
