Does anyone know if the sound quality of this release will be any different from previous releases?

The description on CDJapan makes it seem like they're straight reissues of the original soundtracks. So probably no improvement in sound quality.

I've added a localized tracklist, but I erroneously submited it twice. Can anyone remove the spare one?

The source for the translations for Disc 1 (Red / Green) comes from Pokémon Jukebox's official English names and Discs 3/4 from the FireRed / LeafGreen English iTunes release (tracks 1.11, 1.22 and 1.26 aren't in the Jukebox so I used the FRLG equivalent names). The rest is pretty much copied from Bulbapedia, including all of the 151 Pokédex tracks.

Also, credits from tracks 4.03 and 4.04 from here (for some reason this album doesn't have credits for those arrangements).

Just noting here in case anyone asks that Morikazu Aoki's given name is listed in Japanese as Shinichi on page 3. (I'm sure it's a mistake, given every game and two albums say Morikazu.)

I believe this note from the original GB disc is still applicable to this album as well. I was checking this out on my copy of this against footage on youtube and they are still switched on here as well.

Yup. This album is just a straight up reprint of TGCS-384 and ZMCP-1778 and that track ordering error is still there.

Is this the only game album to have been reprinted as-is twice? I've heard there's some kind of invisible rule to never reprint an album more than once.

I've never heard that rule, but what part of this album was reprinted twice? There was a classic GB soundtrack, a GBA soundtrack, and this one which is a reprint of both.

Oh that's right, ZMCP-1778 is not really a reprint of TGCS-384, and neither is OVCP-0006...? So ehr, if I want the original soundtrack of Pokemon Red and Green, which one should I get?

OVCP-0006 is currently 2,500 yen on CDJapan, for 4 discs it seems like a good deal.

ZMCP-1778 only contains the GBA soundtrack and arrange tracks. No part of TGCS-384 (the original GB soundtrack) was included on it. OVCP-0006 is a reprint of both albums in one 4-disc package.

I get it now. Sounds like a deal!

Maybe what you just wrote should be mentioned in the notes for this album? Seems like important information.

"This album is a reprint of two albums in a single package: TGCS-384 (disc 1-2) and ZMCP-1778 (disc 3-4)."

Okay. I just integrated that info into what was already written in the notes.

This is the cheapest 4-CD set I've seen, at only 2,500 yen.
Also, regarding my point that Play-Asia is not a normal online retailer like it used to be:
Price on CDJapan: 18.34 usd
Price on Play-Asia: 39.99 usd
