Staff credits (p.13) in the booklet lists Hiromitsu Maeba as a composer but he's then nowhere to be seen in the composer breakdown (p.02). Just wondering if we have a policy for this sort of thing - do we credit or not?

Only people in the breakdown.
My guess is he composed tracks for the Sumeragi that weren't included in the CD, or they are refering to SB4 as a whole (where he did compose). |

I may have had some issues with the translation of this album, but I feel as though the current translation of the track names make absolutely no sense. For example, "Gallery of the Rising Sun" is in no way any sort of translation of 日ノ本穴道. 日ノ本 is the archaic term for Japan, which is Hinamoto. 穴道 can translate similar to Tunnel or Underground. In context with the game, the stage these themes are used in are underground railways, with each theme noting a different railway line. "Josuisen" (which could also be Nyosuisen) is a term meaning a railway line that runs smoothly. "Ifukusen" is a term meaning a railway line that is blessed with good fortune. There are other songs in this album alone with translations that seem meaningless and random, and use no context to it's original source material

日の本の国 -> land of the rising sun / 日ノ本穴道 -> gallery of the rising sun
and it's hinomoto, not hinamoto sengoku is a historical period of japan which has NO railroads, you can't translate sen as if it had that meaning and josuisen is on jasrac Last edited by Phonograph; Oct 1, 2023 at 10:14 PM. |
