There was some discussion on SMS Power about Yayoi Wachi and Yayoi Fujimori. Are they the same person?

From the evidence posted there I'd say yes. But wasn't she credited as Wachi after 1995 too? hmm

To be honest I'm still confused whether Yayoi Wachi and Yayoi Fujimori are really the same person or not. I found a likely inactive Facebook page for the latter, saying she worked at Kamiya Studio, yet doesn't list working at Sega which Wachi is known to have worked at. I also noticed that Formula One World Championship: Beyond the Limit credits "WATCH" and was released almost a year before Legend of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse, which credits Yayoi Fujimori alongside Kamiya Studio. The Xevious VHD from 1985 credits her with Shigenori Kamiya too.

If there's any formal confirmation that they are the same person (which I haven't found), I'd be interested. Otherwise, I feel people kinda jumped the gun by identifying them as the same person.

Yayoi Fujimori is positively identified as part of Kamiya Studio on page 277 of the September 1984 issue of Login magazine, which gives her name in Japanese as 藤森やよい. This also matches the name given on that Facebook account.

Fujimura's given name being in hiragana and Wachi's given name being in kanji isn't super strong evidence they're different, but that combined with the concurrent credits and Facebook account not listing Sega makes it seem real likely to me that they're different people. I'm going to make a separate Fujimori entry for at least the time being.
