Default Similar VGM songs

Lately there's been a lot of these type of threads, so I figured it's time to make one where we list VGM tracks that is similar to other ones (or where we seek after similar ones ).

Lately, I've stumbled across some similarities between:

恐怖 from DEWPRISM Original Soundtrack and 海底遺跡 from FINAL FANTASY X Original Soundtrack (I bet a lot of you has already discovered this though).

and

I've also noticed that heal from ICO ~Melody in the Mist~ and Botshaft from SaGa Frontier 2 Original Soundtrack sounds a bit alike. heal is a bit more calm, but there's definitely a similarity, in my opinion.

There's nothing I love more than the save themes from the Biohazard series. If you know of any similar themes (particularly the first 3 save themes of the series), I'd love to hear it!

I'm not sure we should mention songs from the same composer, as they are more or less doomed to sound the same or at least would share the signature style, and any composer can rehash their past ideas. I've been totally sick of how VGM snobs claim "this sounds the same as XXX, so this is crap", bashing Sakimoto and Sakuraba, for the sake of wanting to look smart and an elite, but this is just my two cents, not something everybody else should follow.

Anyway, classic example of being not the same, but similar.

I was just about to remove it from the list because of that, hehe.

I found another good one:
this and this - so alike!

This will be an obscurity but long ago I noticed that the main theme used in the Sega CD version of "Flashback: the Quest for Identity" was IDENTICAL to a theme from an older Harrison Ford movie that I can't recall. Now that's going to bug me... The Fugitive? Patriot Games? Clear and Present Danger? Bah...

It's the theme that plays here at the 1:58 mark, the horn solo:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0S5m...3152649CE9C1BB

that theme there is also heard in just about all the other stage themes at one point or another. All found in only the Sega CD version, for some reason all the other CD-ROM versions omitted the music. :/

I honestly don't hear the similarities in any of the others. Maybe the style is kind of the same or it has the same tempo or it uses a similar instrument, but these two melodies are almost the same in the beginning of the song. Very cool. (Plus, you just get bonus points for posting a Little Nemo song. Epic!)

Just heard this track from Haunted Castle and it reminded me of a track from Journey to Silius. Just the intro. Nothing big.

Is it just me, or Dragon Spiral Tower (Pokémon Black/White) does sounds a lot like Secret of the Forest (Chrono Trigger) and Sanctuary Dungeon (TLoZ: ALttP)?
It has some Chronopolis feeling too..

That's actually a really cool track. Who is the composer?

I hear a similarity between Andächtelei from SaGa FRONTIER II and: a mix of Your Destiny and Player Select from Mortal Kombat. It's in the background of Andächtelei until 1:32, and then it gets louder for a bit.

At the end (and somewhat at the beginning, too) of Battle Drums from Silent Hill Zero I think I hear parts of Serenity from Biohazard 4 - listen very closely.

^ That sample also appears in an ambient track from Monster Hunter.

Wow, now I'm getting kinda curious which sample library it's from. Do you know in which Monster Hunter track it was also used?

These two tracks also supposedly share samples from a library (discovered it years ago, time to document this somewhere..)

http://youtu.be/tgXaQ6c8hQw?t=11s (Oddworld Abe's Odyssee)
http://youtu.be/24TkkztvAks (Technomage)

Oh hey, it's actually from Debussy, La Mer (Second Movement), should've investigated earlier

Not sure, never actually played the game. I doubt it's on any of the soundtrack releases. Was just listening through the stream files. It's "037.ADX"

Nice, and that's a pretty cool track, too! Totally fits with those natural sounds. I might have to ask one of these composers which library they used.. If I can get in touch with anyone.

A-ha! Found it. It's called "To Burble & Pine" from a library called "Pandora's Toolbox".

The first few notes of Sarah's Theme from MAFIA reminds me of Fishing Moat from TLoZ: Twilight Princess (slower/faster).
