Where does the strange catalog number come from? Is that printed on the disc?

Yep =P

We're probably going to see different numbers because the game is being released simultaneously everywhere, but we need some proof from the JP and EU releases just to make sure. JP version is released in a blu-ray case with a different cover. (Info)

I would suspect all releases would have the tracks & track times, but Tecmo could prove me wrong.

Edited some album info again.

I have corrected the order of the playlist because Tecmo screwed up the printed info: they rotated the actual last eight tracks to the top. Examples:

1 "Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Theme" (as Tecmo printed) is actually "Around the World"
2 "East Meets West" is "Approaching Doom" and so on.

It's also worth mentioning that Tecmo has a completely different name for 2 tracks in the game audio test menu:

"Red" is "Deadly Conflict" and
"Path of the Ninja" is "Limitless Power".

The person who first noticed the big tracklist error is from a file sharing site, so I'm not allowed to post the link.

You can check by comparing corrected track order and the track names from game's audio test menu. (also game has altogether 65 tracks, other 34 tracks were not included in the OST but they are playable through mentioned audio test)

Maybe a new tracklist for the corrected order would have been better than changing the old one.

I added the European & Japanese versions of the soundtrack.
All versions comes with 31 tracks, and the "printed" order is the same.

Though it's unknown to me if the European & Japanese versions have the same mismatching tracklist/soundtrack as the US version.
If they fixed the problem, both reprints should have an unlinked tracklist.

Oh.. and i added the REAL cover for the US version...

Too bad there are no liner notes for artist breakdown (Ryo Koike is a favorite), not even in JP print.
