The credits for the arcade version of Märchen Maze list "S. Kobayashi" for BGM: http://www.geocities.jp/bgrtype/gsl/.../marchenm.html. The Japanese Wikipedia article for the game says this person's name is 小林智 and that he worked for N.H.SYSTEM, which apparently developed the game: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/メルヘンメイズ#.E9.9F.B3.E6.A5.BD. Just "N.Hsound" is credited for composition on Namco Graffiti Collection Best 10.
Assuming the S. initial is correct, I'm not sure if 智 is Satoshi or Satoru (or who knows what else). He's also credited in the TG-16 conversion of the game as "Koba," with "music translation" done by Norihiko Togashi ("Noririn"): http://www.geocities.jp/bgrtype/gsl/...chm/merhm.html. Togashi's Wikipedia article alleges that he and 小林智 worked on Blast Off, which credits music to KOB and TOG: http://www.geocities.jp/bgrtype/gsl/...toff/boff.html. |

I asked @Area51_zek about this. (He interviewed a couple N.H. System programmers.) It's Satoshi Kobayashi, and he was a freelancer.
