Default KORG DS-10 was made by vgm veterans!

According to this article, Nobuyoshi “Sanodg” Sano, was the director and producer of the DS-10 software, and Mitsuda's Procyon Studio programmed the sequencer for it!!

I previously thought this was just KORG's idea to try tapping another market and didn't think too much about it, but it seems this synth software was actually created by veteran game music guys!

That's cool. I want to pick this up and see if I can create anything neat with it.

I remember hearing about this game awhile ago and might've seen someone use it for making music as well too. Sounds pretty neat especially for someone who might be interested in getting a synthesizer or at least learning the basics of, this would be great way to start out I think. Especially since top brands like KORG, Roland, Alesis, and etc are really expensive at least with this game you'll get a taste of what an actual synth can do.

If it's anything like the Kaossilator, I'll definitely have to look into getting this =D

Nice, that Kaossilator video is sweet.
Yes it appears that the DS-10 has the KAOS PAD functions built-in.

I finally found a store nearby that had 1 in stock, so I picked this up yesterday.
Time to start messing around and having some fun with it!

It looks like Sano himself is desperate to find a copy of the 'game': http://www.ds10blog.jp/?p=418

OK, looks like I will accept a mission to fulfill Sano's wish now.

I'll bring it back into the gameshop I bought it from yesterday and take a photo of it sitting on the shelf, to post as a reply on that blog.

DS-10_Store_Shelf_USA.jpg
DS-10_Game_Store_USA.jpg

The employee had to request special order for the 1 they had in stock, so this title isn't automatically sent out to the shops, even though this is about the only chain of physical shops in the USA which is carrying it. (amazon.com for online orders).

Haha, good job Carl ='D

This has piqued my interest, I'll have to check out some of the gaming stores in town to see if any are stocking this game!

AramiTama (Kouki Izumi) also released a DS-10 album at C74: http://vgmdb.net/album/11181

He's also made it available for free download. Link's at the bottom of page:
http://arami.rdy.jp/disc/ds10.html

Not too impressive, but maybe the next batch of Comiket releases will be better once the groups have gotten familiar with the software.

Here's an original DS-10 creation by me. Automated the 2 VCO's to hop around and got some neat fades and subtle interactions, so I'm calling this tune "VCO Echoes". Youtube'd it now..

Well, it's been a while since I've used my DS10... mainly because I'm aware how much hard work it takes to make a really great tune... but that's just an excuse =)

Yonao put up a nice new vid though:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckputUikdOM

This guy is pretty skilled also, and Yamato10Gallon gets hyper crazy with this tune EDEA after the slow minute opening.

So a new Korg DS-10 is on the way... I found this funny video of Sano presenting the game (in English!) in what looks like a fake keynote: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_4YOTTiIME

Is it me or is he imitating Satoru Iwata?

With the new changes to the DS-10 Plus being an updated Sequencer and more available Channels to use, it's tempting to upgrade...

Here's some dense spacey trance using the Plus version, hot from 1:50 onward

Be warned though that games (enhanced) for DSi seem to be region locked on DSi.
