Sigma Harmonics was the first thing I heard by Hamauzu, but I didn't immediately fall in love. I understand why this thread exists, as one could say he is rather inaccessible.

Yet amazingly versatile. The man's an electronic beast. (I suppose technically the most appreciation should go to Mitsuto Suzuki / Ryo Yamazaki though.)

My favourite side of Hamauzu however, would probably be the more romantic and playful stuff like RosenKranz and Gentle Timbre.

Parts of SaGa Frontier II, perhaps, but his music for FFX, FFXIII, and Chocobo's Dungeon seem plenty accessible to me. Beautiful harmonies and timbres.

A lot of it is Hamauzu himself. Listen to some of the great stuff on Unlimited: Saga's disc 2.

He's one of my favorite two VGM composers at the moment (no points awarded for guessing the other).

Edit: I just remembered something by Hamauzu that's unambiguously atonal (that's an odd thought for you).

I really like Masashi Hamauzu's works. SaGa Frontier II is when I started liking his music.

The famous FFXIII battle theme, I just like the use of rhythm. Whenever I hear this song I always hear 6/8 to 2/4 rhythm when clearly it isn't because of the lead melody playing in a 4/4 feel. So it's just a regular 4/4.

I like his use of rhythms, instrumentation, and diversity of adapting to many different genres and styles of music to interpret a setting in parts of a game.
