Romaji tracklists
this post is for all the fuckers who think they can make romanizations as they are submitted and wait for someone to correct it
I'm really fed up to the teeth with that shit it's like I spend my time or other like Illidan in order to correct the shit some people dare to put on the site so for the sake of vgmdb and internet-spread-shit, STOP DOING THAT this message is for guys like genesiszero, inaptchan012 etc. next time I see shitty romanizations it's direct in the trashbin with no warning (same remark for those cdjapan tracklists) you are warned... |

You know that I've also gotten angry with people in the past, though for me it was either when they splattered up a bunch of new albums without filling in the details, or when they filled in artist credits without details and verification. In the end, I found it was more productive (though frustrating) to work with them to try to improve their capabilities and quality of their output.
Rather than deleting, I think bad submissions need to be rejected by staff. This way it carries the full weight of authority from the site, and establishes more firmly that submission quality needs to change. It also stays on the record permanently. Send me a message when you see something that needs rejected. I usually only moderate on Saturday mornings, but I can deal with specific cases as needed. |

there is a difference between an album poorly submitted that can improve with time and experience and a tracklist submitted by people who don't have no clue about romanization (probably using some shit like google translate and ending up getting weird reading)
I know by Illidan and some pms he got that people don't really care when you try to "teach" them trusted editors like me can't reject bad tracklists, so deletion is the only way to show it's not correct tracklists I also know that deleted tracklists don't clear the modding queue (alas, it should be automatic, imo) edit: also, I forgot to specify in my first post that I only speak about really bad romanizations, tracklists with few errors don't deserve total deletion and can be edited Last edited by Phonograph; May 16, 2015 at 07:06 AM. |

I didn't have a chance to reject any tracklist recently since they were always being fixed (mostly by Phonograph), but I did warn the submitter about not using online translators ... obviously the warning was ignored and he kept doing it. There's only so much you can do if you don't know even the basics the language, and frankly I don't even see the point of literally spamming romaji tracklists left and right when they're all wrong.
