If we need this thread, maybe we need a buy/sell success rate for each user account? Is this a good idea?

Wouldn't it better to have script-based system? Or just a + or - listed after the account name

I'm assuming there are other higher-priority improvements to be made in other areas of the site first, before bothering to turn the marketplace system into a full-featured ebay.

Since only a couple of folks are even using it currently, an informal system of feedback is better than nothing and let's the coders focus on other improvements first.

The trick is figuring out just what suits our needs. If we're not going to have a large number of transactions, then we don't need an Ebay style system. Maybe the best solution would be to give each user a comments page, and allow registered users to leave comments on them.

A number of the people selling are well known people as well, so for now I think this thread should suffice. A comments page as SS suggests seems like a sound idea though, should sales begin to take off.

We could upgrade to the newest version of vBulletin, it has a built-in comment feature on user profile pages.

That would save us from having to code something. I renewed maintenance when the opportunity came up, so we could do that too.

Ok, I think allowing people to comment on user profiles would be an acceptable measure. If somebody's profile gets spammed, that person can take it to a staff member for discussion/arbitration.

I disagree with Carl's original method of using a thread, because, just like the Bug thread, it becomes a very long single thread, so it gets annoying to search through (even with the forum's search engine).

With a single + or - display, then how does one calculate that over many feedbacks? It also doesn't tell somebody why someone is good or bad. Basically, a simple value or symbol does not allow discussion, which some people here seem to desire.

Bought Final Fantasy IX Original Soundtrack [Limited Edition] and Biohazard 3 Original Soundtrack [Limited Edition] from strangerr:
  • Great prices.
  • Splendid packaging!
  • Great support!

Additional comments: He DID try to sell me a copy of a bootlegged Final Fantasy VIII [Limited Edition] (GM-108~11), but I was lucky enough to spot the catalog number, and since there wasn't already an entry for it on VGMdb, he probably couldn't have known - he did say he was sorry and everything, for not having done some research on it. One disc of each album had fell out of the tray (probably during the transport), but there were no real damages (I advice people to put a piece of bubble wrap inside the cases to keep the discs intact during transportation, by the way).

He is a great seller nonetheless, he answered a lot of questions that I had, and he is without doubt trustworthy! Everything he described to me in the mail looked exactly like he explained.

Overall: 9.5/10

Thanks for the feed back, Mattias! It's always a pleasure, my man!

I'm usually on the selling end of things, so I'd like to leave some feedback for some of my recent and usual buyers. All of these dudes (and dudette) are awesome to do business with and have always been great to chat with! I hope I remember everyone, so my apologies if I have left anyone out...

Bought a "mint" The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Original Sound Track from 4wheels.
  • Simple, but good packaging!
  • Good price

Additional comments: He mentioned that it was mint, though the case had a light crack and some residue on the back. But I guess I shouldn't be too picky, the case is replaceable Everything else is pretty darn mint.

Positive feedback:
Boyblunder -Great communication, fair prices, good packaging and albums as described. A+ (even if either British Post Office or Finnish Post Office decided crack the front a bit, poor BB was devastated by that :/)

I had a good experience buying from Carl, though it was a while ago so I can't recall the details.
