Default Artist website listings

For the listing of websites in the artist profiles, could we do some sort of alternating hues of blue or other method to better differentiate the items in the list (e.g. http://vgmdb.net/artist/1043)?

Maybe a thin separator line might do the trick just as well.

I've been thinking about this too. My main issue though, is with the sheer (and usually quite unnecessary) length of many default page titles (e.g. Myspace), as well as how non-descriptive many tend to be - especially ones including non-English language text. No offense, but if you look at the most recently updated links page...

By the way, when you add a website you get to choose a 'Type'. How is that going to be used?

If you can't read Japanese, following those links may not be beneficial to you either, anyway. Although there's nothing stopping people from translating site titles.

In fact the site "type" may be the solution to all that, since regardless of site titles the type will tell you in one glance what their nature would be. I've yet to design the indicators.

[Using Uematsu as an example] Here's a rough idea of something I think would work; using the 'type' as a prefix, followed by a short and concise title.

(prefix): (title)

Standardizing the info like that could certainly be a good idea. I definitely wanna hear more thoughts on that.

Also (again referring to the djpretzel example up top), what about making Websites the last thing listed on the left sidebar, so that an artist with many links doesn't have the overall album rating and credited works stats pushed down so far?

I'd also like to see something that establishes a display hierarchy. Links are currently displayed in the order they're added, but it could be more efficient to sort by type before listing them, as well as color coding by type.

I like seanne's and Liontamer's ideas. We could even color-code the links.
