I can't find any reliable information about the material this album is composed from. It looks like that the first disc is just a reprint of the PKCF release (for the DS game). The second disc would then be the additions for the PS3 game.

Now, we know that the PS3 is _not_ a port of the DS game. So I would suppose that the ingame soundtrack is not identical to the DS version. This confuses me...

IIRC Zana is kinda involved with Wayo. Can you perhaps comment on this (if you can)?

Seems doubtful that there is any Kondoh material, I think this is purely the live orchestral tracks from Hisaishi.

It's definitely all Hisaishi.

I don't get what you're confused about Liquid. It seems pretty clear to me.

Most of the music is retained since it takes place in the same universe. For the PS3 version, they added more music.

OK, so there was really no re-arrangement done for the PS3 game? I find this strange. Yes, I was expecting to hear the same musical motives as in the DS game. But the PS3 game tells a different story than the DS game (from what I've read), so I would've expected to hear different arrangements here, which fit the individual scenes of the game.

Since I already own the PKCF release I'm hesitant to just preorder this. I don't want to end up with just a bonus disc of short snippets (and alternatve/english versions) of the PS3 game, plus the music I already have. Don't get me wrong. The DS soundtrack is terrific and I really enjoyed it. It's just that I have my doubt about the "usefulness" of this second disc...

Don already answer but, yes, this soundtrack is divided into two parts: the first disc is indeed a reprint of the DS soundtrack, while the second includes unreleased music that was added in the PS3 version. Also, there is the English version of the theme song. In a way, this is the "ultimate" version of the soundtrack. Although I understand your concern since you already own the Japanese release, I guess it's the best opportunity for those who didn't purchase the soundtrack yet.

The booklet will be basically the same as the Japanese soundtrack too, but we have translated everything to English.

Also, as you might expect, it doesn't include Kondoh's contribution.

I also have pkcf release and see no real reason to get this. It may be the 'ultimate' version having in mind Hisaishi's part, but I would definitely buy it if it was 'complete' with Kondoh's work as well.

And of course it's completely different story for people without jp release.

Just wondering if anyone's received this yet? I ordered on 2/1/13 and haven't received shipping notification yet.

Unfortunately, we have a shortage of parcels for international orders and our supplier couldn't deliver new ones in time. It should be shipped in the coming days. I'm sorry for this unexpected event.

Thank-you. I'm more relieved now.

The artwork is so. Studio. Ghibli. It's no wonder Hisaishi is part of the crew

Seriously, every time I look at this, I immediately think Laputa. I plan to check out the music for this game.

The reason why Hisaishi is involved, is because Studio Ghibli _is_ involved.

Hisaishi, while synonymous with Ghibli, is not exclusively linked. Hayao and Joe have as fantastic working relationship as Burton and Elfman. Don't forget, not every Ghibli film is Hisaishi and Hisaishi is Tengai Makkyou

I did get a shipping notification but haven't checked to see of it came in yet. Sounds like they're just behind or didn't anticipate the popularity. Give it time, they seem to be doing what they can.

All international orders are now either shipped or in shipping process! Indeed, we have been quite taken aback by the popularity of this soundtrack. Again, on behalf of Wayô, I apologize for the inconvenience!

Renamed the album to follow what's on spine, instead of that all caps monster.

On booklet front and back says "The Original Soundtrack"; on side "Original Soundtrack". Why you prefer the minor appearance?

I think "The" Original Soundtrack is correct (front, back, booklet), "Original Soundtrack" on spine it's only for lack of space.

We added the "the" in "The Original Soundtrack" based on a request from Level 5's localisation team, so I guess you'd better go with that since it's "official"... I'll let you guys decide.

But why didn't you guys add that 'the' on the spine also? It would have fitted it, especially when you could remove the dash.

But yeah, probably better to add that 'the' now that it's Level 5 official.

To be perfectly honest with you, when making an album like that, there's a lot more to worry about than the exact name.

True true, and it's easy to nitpick about things when you haven't done anything with the album at all. But time to change the album title now.

I also confirm that CD1 is exact same as PKCF-1036 and I found CD2’s genuine track names in JASRAC data-bank.

Guess this is now out of stock? Wonder if there's any plans to reprint.
