Great interview. Your (?) questions were indeed really interesting.

Terashima-san composed Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 6, and Ending. I composed Stage 3, Stage 4, Stage 5, Boss, Dracula, and Dracula 2.
So, "Vampire Killer" wasn't, after all, hers?

I wonder if a third person worked on the game? She doesn't say who did "Player Miss", "Stage Clear", or "Game Over".

Excellent interview, man! I always get a kick out of finding out new composer information on old games; especially Konami.

Right, she did NOT compose Vampire Killer.

A third person was definitely not involved with the music. All the music was done by either her or Satoe Terashima (as confirmed by Kinuyo Yamashita). The reason she didn't list the shorter tracks was because I didn't send them to her to ask if she did them or not. Basically, when i asked her which tracks she did for Castlevania, she said she would have to hear the music to tell me, because she didn't know the titles of them. So I just sent her links to the different songs in the game and she told me which ones were hers and which ones were Satoe Terashima's. I probably should have sent her the shorter tracks like Stage Clear and Game Over, but I didn't want to bother her with too many tracks, so I figured it was more important to send her the longer songs.

What's also interesting is that she didn't know the titles to the tracks (like "Vampire Killer" or "Wicked Child"), because she didn't come up with them. Konami made those titles up.

I went through all the albums Yamashita is credited on and ironed out almost all of the CV composition between her and Terashima. These ones still need verification:I only went through the ones she's linked to, so not the albums like Famicom Best where only the KKC is linked.

Re. "James Banana," it only makes sense as a unit. We shouldn't be using it as an alias for Yamashita ever, because it was never a name for just her. We don't use "Konami Kukeiha Club" as an alias for individual artists, or "Falcom Sound Team jdk," etc.

I'm in favor of getting rid of all references to it, though. It's a joke credit from a joke "staff roll" that doesn't list anyone from Konami properly and only lists three "people" at all. Now that we know all the composers, there's no real reason we need it any more.

I agree, there should defnitely be a unit for James Banana, with Satoe Terashima as member also, ofcourse.

I actually ended up following up today about those short songs in Castlevania. Kinuyo Yamashita just confirmed that she composed Game Start, Life Lost, Boss Defeated, and Game Over. As for any other music in the game not yet covered, I wouldn't assume they were Terashima. I only sent Kinuyo Yamashita those four tracks to review (but at this point, I think all the music except for Game Completed have been covered -well, that and that one track that's only in the Japanese version).
