I really like the little orchestral figures on the orchestral box arts. =D

Overall, I don't think this album is as good as the first Game Music Concert. However, it does reach a higher peak than the first with tracks Village (Sim City) and Soldiers Rhapsody (Great Strategy Expert). In fact those two are tracks from games in which I have not played.

Because I Love You and Town are nice as well.

I am glad I finally started listening to these soundtracks.

It would help if the performances weren't so wretched. The playing ranges from mediocre to downright terrible (missed cues, flubbed notes, poor phrasing). I really do appreciate these albums, but it would improve them a lot if they were re-recorded with a competent group.

Yep these albums perfectly represent the market situation of being the best in the industry because you're the only one who sells the product. The novelty usually supersedes the poor performance for me, though.

Well a few of the tracks have been recorded in the same arrangements over the years (or in the case of the DQ tracks, previously). For instance, that recent "greatest video game music' thing uses a couple of of them.

Which is nice, and in both of those cases the performances are much better, but there are a number of rarities that would be nice to have rerecorded.
