Anyone knows this site? It has a detailed composer database with lots of information about specific song credits. It seems reliable.
http://capcom.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Composers for example http://capcom.wikia.com/wiki/Setsuo_Yamamoto |

Look up a user called kyubihanyou from here. He was responsible for most of the specific song credits. Most of the time this was based on wild assumptions and bizarre logic, rather than any actual evidence or deep musical considerations. Unfortunately, he treated most of his theories as facts and several times he threw hissy fits when people called him up on it.

Thanks for the video. Too bad it looks so... minimalistic. I'm afraid of waiting too long and then I will never be able to buy it brand new. |

I've been thinking about purchasing this box set for a while, since I don't have ANY Mega Man X albums and this looks like a great opportunity to get the original scores from all the games in the series in one go. Anyone knows how's the overall sound (or recording) quality of this release?

So, this has 20th Anniversary in regular title case like that in, like, every single place the title exists. Just explaining my edit.
EDIT: Also putting Japanese as an alternate title since it's not anywhere on the album (I'm pretty sure that's a thing we do but correct me if I'm wrong). Last edited by Hellacia; Jan 16, 2015 at 10:18 PM. |

Looks like similar on how the Bayonetta 1 & 2 albums were split and sold as individual digital disc releases in the West. Capcom did the same with Mega Man's X through X4 via their online store (X, X2, X3, X4). How should we add these album? With this as a parent album or as their own separate entries?

Should Game Boy really be listed in the represented platforms? I can't find any info about these games being released for Game Boy, only Game Boy Color.

I think the first Xtreme game is both. It will play on a regular Game Boy, but is fully enhanced on a GBC. Many games that were sold as GBC games were like this.

Huh, I never knew that, and I've had a Game Boy since it first came out. I've never purchased a single Game Boy Color game since I didn't have the console.

This just might be my imagination, but am I the only one who hears one of the game start themes from the original series in the end half of the eight game start themes in the PS1 X3?
I can't help but think I hear the game start theme from the original Mega Man in there, but I think I'm mistaken. There is just something so familiar about it even though I never played the PS1/Saturn version of X3. Edit: Actually, listening to it some more, isn't that piece the Game Start theme from Mega Man X? Woah, really!? So all the opening stage themes from X2-X8 are all just arranged versions of X1's? I never noticed that before and I've listened to this soundtrack multiple times!
Also, does anyone else think that disc 8, track 7's name is supposed to be "Ruins'n Vines ~ Deep Forest Stage" rather than "Ruins'n Vains ~ Deep Forest Stage"? It would make sense since it is a forest stage, plus I could see how someone would think "vine" is spelled "vain" if English wasn't their first language. EDIT: Okay, re-reading the above 2 posts, I'm not sure exactly what you guys are referring to. Could you elaborate more? Last edited by Damned; May 15, 2021 at 09:38 AM. |

We're talking about the jingle that plays when you select a stage. The one from Mega Man X1 ("Stage Start") is the same as from Mega Man 1, 2, and 4 ("Game Start"). The PS1 version of X3 has these short cutscene tracks for each Maverick which finishes with the same classic jingle.

I didn't see this posted - https://www.famitsu.com/news/201311/28043967.html provides a marker next to each track indicating where the audio came from:
* All SFC and Game Boy tracks are "newly extracted from the game ROM" * All PS1/PS2 tracks are the same as in previously released CDs. * PSP tracks are a mix of 3 sources ("game ROM"; previous CD; development/production). It looks like this actually means that the only CD quality tracks are 2,12(▲) and 13,39,40(◎) - the other tracks (★) are lossy ATRAC/PSP quality, and worse quality than the selection of tracks released on the previous CD for this game. (It also notes that the Game Boy titles and the audio are mismatched to match the game.) Quote:

Machine Translation: "* Disc12, Track37 and 39 have different character names from the original song, but please note that they will be recorded according to the game specifications." I'm not sure I fully understand this. So Track 37 "Launcher Octopuld Stage" (Launch Octopus Stage) is actually "Burnin' Noumander Stage" (Flame Mammoth Stage) and Track 39 "Burnin' Noumander Stage" (Flame Mammoth Stage) is actually "Launcher Octopuld Stage" (Launch Octopus Stage). I'm wondering why they didn't fix it. Did Mega Man Xtreme 2 have a Sound Test where the track titles were switched? |

The songs were swapped in the Japanese version. It was fixed in the US version.

Probably a shot in the dark, but is there any megaman fan that could try and come up with a tracklist that fixes the original tracklist with the localized/corrected names? I really don't know my rockman enough to do it myself
