I've listed in the notes section what tracks are arrangements from the first two games, as well as what tracks they're arrangements of. I've also done this on the Shin Megami Tensei III NOCTURNE Maniacs Soundtrack extra version page.

Should I add Tsukasa Masuko to the composers field?

Yes, in these cases (where an artists music is featured in arranged form at a later time) the artist should be added and linked as a "featured" artist. I went ahead and did that for these two entries.

Album notes, presumably by Redfield:
Mansion of Heresy ~Gleaming Sky~ (2.07) [is an arrangement of] "Jakyou no Yakata" from Shin Megami Tensei II. Composed by Tsukasa Masuko.
After checking, I don't think that's correct, i don't hear it. Please provide more info on exactly where these parts are in both tracks, otherwise i think it should be removed.

Especially considering II's Cathedral theme is in Nocturne as an easter egg (the PS1 version as heard on the SMT Sound Collections album).

I still regard this Meguro's greatest accomplishment, though DDS comes very very close.

Are you guys kidding me? At about 18 seconds into the Nocturne track the similarities to the track from II kick in and continue throughout the song.

I can't even find "Jakyou no Yakata" anymore. Please specify which album exactly it is in, catalog number, track number, and the time where the melody starts.

As far as I understand, we're talking about the organ tracks. 1.14 is not it.

They're:
2.07 Mansion of Heresy ~Gleaming Sky~ (0:18-) from this album, and presumably
2.15 Mansion of Heresy from PCCG-00261, but I need Redfield to confirm.

Personally, I still don't hear something direct, but undoubtedly Tsuchiya was trying to compose something in the style of II's, in a similar vein to the "Megaten sound" impetus for the Amala Network battle theme.

Keeping in mind the easter egg tracks in Nocturne as I mentioned in the previous post plus the fact that both II's and III's Cathedral themes are in IV as distinct tracks, I think this is a matter of homage rather than arrangement.

I'm surprised the track that plays at the top of kagutsuchi tower, right before meeting kagutsuchi, is missing from this soundtrack. It's heard in the area where giant cubes were floating in the sky and being placed. I've listened through the soundtrack several times but couldn't find it.

So, were the pages for the two extra tracks here moved or are they gone completely? I tried visiting the page and inserting my discs, but I got nothing.

The page doesn't seem to exist anymore; it's been almost 12 years.

I would've guessed, I didn't think it'd hurt to ask though.

Lyrics to the (awesome) 23. Boss Battle:
Quote:
We'll sacrifice the son of heaven
Man's greatest glimpse of fire red
Oh how they're lost in their prayers for our greatest god
Let me sleep, please! I am a man, half human
I am tired as heart and person weaken
On the name of God! I will not crack.
Can you hear them?
God! I will not crack.
Can you hear them?

The interwebs keep saying that but still sounds so off. Then again I mostly hear BLARG WORD BLARG BLARG.

Btw, for those that haven't played the game. Most "common battle" themes have a guitar riff in the main section, but the game has a bunch of possible riffs and swaps them every battle to add some variety, but unfortunately the OST is limited to one (not even looped!). There are "short start" versions for susprise attacks too.

It's also missing quite a bit of ambience/cutscene music (most notably the "boss appearance" for all 3 Reason bosses).

Fun fact, Jewelry RAG has 'lyrics' from a Spanish movie, can you figure out? (the link posted below isn't quite right)

What's the movie? To me, it always sounded like the female voice speaks Japanese. BTW, the game version is a bit clearer and more intelligible than that on the album. Some instruments were also changed.

Here are the voice clips with translation.

Why is Toshiko Tasaki creditted as Arranger despite no arrangements from him being present? Does the booklet mention general arrangement infos?

None that I can see. I think maybe someone just credited all three for arrangement cause they didn't know which tracks were from SMTI and II.

I'm kind of doubting that you still can, but does anyone know if it's possible to still get the two bonus tracks by visiting sony's website when the CD is in your computer?

Edit: Never mind looks like someone already addressed that earlier.

If you go to the link it just says お探しのページは見つかりませんでした - "The page you are looking for cannot be found"

It was over 17 years ago; I'm sure the download is long gone.

I figured that would be the case, though oddly enough the links for the MP3 & WAV of Digital Devil Saga 2's Rare Devil theme are still up, though you need to go to the links directly as the page links no longer direct to the correct place.

The internet archive page for the album mentions needing some Shockwave application to run which verified that you had the disc, so there's no backup of it on there either.

Firstly, uh-oh. Secondly, these aren't those files, AFAIK.

I have good things on sale, stranger. Under my coat, where it's private.
