PSCN-5024: Chrono Trigger Arranged Version: The Brink of Time

This arranged soundtrack is mediocre, but I was curious on what the deal is with the artwork. I did play the game a long time ago, but what is with the eggs, and chicken stuff?

Guardia Millenial Fair and Outskirts of Time I really enjoy on this album.

I'm not sure if the scrambled egg / breakfast artwork has been brought up in any Interviews with Mitsuda, or maybe briefly enough that I don't remember reading an answer as to why that art direction was chosen...

This wouldn't have been such a bad album if they picked anything to arrange over Zeal Palace. Also, the Chrono Corridor arrangment is too long and underwhelming. Still, there are some good arrangements here.

This is a pretty ok arrange album; there's blues, jazz, bossa nova, and more. Yes, some tracks are too long, but i was pleasantly surprised overall. I'd highlight Secret Of Forest, Warlock Battle, and Chrono Corridor.

I was checking Procyon and according to the blurb it's supposed to symbolize the western (musical) taste of the album (uh ok).
The album doesn't have liner notes per Mitsuda's insistence, so you would judge the music by yourself.

It's been a long time since I played the game but regarding the egg cover art, it probably has to do with the "time egg" (Japanese: 時の卵), a story-related item in the game.

Now that you mention eggs, it brings to mind Hanjuku Hero, a long-running series (main character is an egg man) of Japanese-only Squaresoft RPG/Strategy games starting on the Nintendo Famicom.

So maybe they do have a quirky interest in eggs down there at Squaresoft HQ.
