Woah, woah, woah... I thought this would become a score-only soundtrack release. Never expected to find a new track by POTF on this one, and an especially good one too. Wasn't that satisfied with their latest album 'Twilight Theater', but this one here is IMHO on the same level as 'Late Goodbye'.
Hopefully it's released as single! |

Assigned Staatskapelle London since Tilman Sillescu confirmed in a recent interview that they took part in it.
"Our job was to arrange Petri's music for string orchestra with solo oboe and to organize the recording session. Together with Petri and with Marc Yeend from Microsoft, we discussed the performance of the orchestra, and tried to achieve a certain fragile sound that really touches the player. And I think the "Staatskapelle Halle" did a great job, which was conducted by Bernd Ruf and recorded by Genuin." |

Pierre Langer just confirmed to me that it was Dynamedion's lead orchestrator David Christiansen that handled the lovely orchestrations.

Is the tracklist official? I believe "The Poet and the Muse" (an another song) is credited to "Old Gods of Asgard" (they are the POTF alright but the 'bands' in the game are separate entities for a reason). "War" from POTF's latest album was also used, but the OGOA songs doesn't seem to be in any of their albums unlike SEMO says.

Since the LE doesn't have a tracklist, the only way of getting one is by connecting to ITunes. Someone posted a tracklist he got from Itunes that varies from the one we have here.

Do we usually combine different prints of the same content into one entry even though they're two different prints, rather than making one a child of the original entry? What I mean is, this album has a picture of two different discs and calls one the (US Version). Shouldn't the US version print be a child of what I assume is the European version print, since they come from two different places and the European version came out first? (GameFAQs actually reports limited edition releases for the game in 4 different countries, so I don't know which one the non-labeled disc is actually for.)

I don't think we do have a clear guideline for such reprints.
But we generally don't create 20 child albums for albums that: - have the same content - does not have big difference in packaging (ex: there's no booklet, just a disc) [unlike the StarCraft II entries we have for example] and even if the bottom of the disc is slighty different, i don't think it's worth polluting the database with 1 disc for each country. |

X16-43660 is the code of the case that includes the soundtrack and the bonus disc. This code seems to be shared among all releases of the game, since the case itself has no text at all.
The actual disc has two codes, one on the cover side and one on the ring. The Asian edition in English and Chinese has X16-5336-01 on the cover and X16-79413 on the ring. Can anybody check the code on the ring of the European and US edition? I think the the ring will be the same, as it refers to the cd content. It's the cover code that should be different since it has text in the target language (English, Chinese, etc.). Which of the 2 codes should we use? I'm guessing the cover, which means each edition needs his own entry? Or just the ring code? |
