Here's more information about the people behind this album than anyone besides myself cares about! The remixed opening theme is fantastic, and that got me looking into JLHA and then the rest of the guys on this album.
"The Link" in the title probably refers to LINK (LINK.ID? http://www.link-id.com/), some kind of club or studio or music collective or something which most of these folks were affiliated with. Their logo appears in the top-left corner of the back of the booklet, saying it was produced, recorded, and mixed by them. 小林秀行 is a bit of a mysterious guy. His name is probably read Hideyuki Kobayashi, but I couldn't find anything definitive. LINK has a blurb on him here: http://www.link-id.com/koukaku/index.html. He was part of pull the plug, more on them later! JLHA is (was?) a singer and sound programmer. She made her debut with the trance unit MAJI NA DAMU in 2001 and went solo in 2004. Her handle is pronounced "jay-la" (ジェイラ) and was previously styled "J.Lha." Here are the archives of her old website: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.jlhapower.com/. Her abandoned blog is still up: http://jlha.exblog.jp/. pull the plug was a duo of 山田巧 and 小林秀行 who used to have this website: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.pulltheplug.tv/. The website of the group STAIN gives their names as Takmi Yamada and Hideyuki Kobayashi: http://sound.jp/stain/link.html. STAIN is (was?) also affiliated with LINK, so that's the only convincing evidence of 小林秀行's name reading that I've found. You can also find some occasional references to them going by Takmi and YUKI, like this thing whatever it is: http://www.ab.auone-net.jp/~alexto/i...lltheplug.html. The discography of Filter Fish (more on them later!) claims that their Takmi was part of pull the plug (http://www.flf.jp/disc/index.html), so same guy. Vomos is an easy one, he's active and blogs and everything. I even made him an artist entry: http://vgmdb.net/artist/10227. He's also part of Filter Fish. KIREI used to be part of the group LOVE FREEDOM: http://www.lovefreedom.jp/. He's occasionally referenced as "キレイ," and LOVE FREEDOM seems to have at one point been called LOVE MODEL FREEDOM. I don't have anything beyond that! Filter Fish is currently a duo of Takmi and Vomos. At the time of this album, they had a third member, Sugiyoshi. He left in 2007 for medical reasons. Website here: http://www.flf.jp/. DELUA ANTI NORM is Jinn Yagi (八木 仁): http://www.jinnyagi.com/. Another easy one! G-Brain was a side project of TAKEO, drummer of the band PIERROT (Wikipedia), along with Wataru Kamiryo (上領 亘), drummer of the band P-MODEL (Wikipedia). Their names appear on the obi as "TAKEO featuring 上領 亘," making them the only group whose members are listed on the album. They were assisted in production by the DJ Satoshi Fumi, who's not listed on the obi but lists the track specifically in his works list: http://www.satoshifumi.com/discograp...y_details.html. Here's some video of all three performing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9A5kb7lcxc. |
