My friend in Japan was able to get me a copy of this.

From the pictures on VGMDb, I expected a long slipcase. Except my copy is folded within a square jewel-like case. Due to that, there is a crease along the front cover (to its detriment).

However, the scans on VGMDb show no creases (or the spine). Is there an alternate version?

It's a pretty common format for old singles with 8cm CDs, the lower part can be snapped off to fold them in a square or they can be kept in their original rectangular shape.

Some jackets used to have fold lines so they could be folded nicely, but most didn't.

I've seen the same thing done to a few Konami "mini CD albums" of the same type (some Gradius releases and WEC Le Mans), and I am sure they are just barbarically-folded copies. There is no way they would be folded like this, making the tracklist unreadable or breaking up an artwork.

Oh, don't get me wrong. It was meant to be folded like this (at least for this type of CD case, according to the inside):

But that makes me wonder if they came unfolded?

Is that what's going on with the first step in the instructions? I was a bit confused by that.

Come to think of it, my copy of the Dirty Pair OAV came intact. But I never had the idea of folding it in half!

As far as I know, all 8cm singles with that format came unfolded. You can't fold it unless you snap the plastic grid piece (left part of picture 1) off first.

I see. Such a shame.

I don't feel right replacing the pictures we already have on here with my creased copies. Can I add my image above (front & back) as one additional image?

Sure, can't hurt to have some high resolution pictures in addition to the ones we already have.
