Question Is Scitron out of business?

Their website is www.webcity.jp but it's gone now. Did they go out of business? If that's the case, it's so sad.

Scitron Digital Contents Inc. has been succeeded by Happinet Corporation. This document may be of interest:
http://www.hap-net.com/english/ir/ir...s_briefing.pdf

From page 2:
"The business of Scitron Digital Contents Inc. was transferred to Happinet Corporation on April 1, 2006 and liquidation of the company was completed on September"

Happinet was still releasing albums sporadically under the SCDC stem up to last year.

Scitron can be considered buried in the graveyard. Once Happinet finished publishing the works-in-progress that Scitron already had going in their pipeline, then Happinet got out of the music biz last year.

Odd that since they're a part of the Bandai Namco Group though, that they're not even publishing bandai-namco OSTs either.

The former President of Scitron, Yoshihiro Ohno, made a lateral move to being President of Ubook Corporation.
At least their bookstores have a section focused on Game and Anime soundtracks (G-A Core).

It appears G-A Core is closing their business at the end of this month.

A Shame. I never made a purchase from them, but their legendary interview series was easily the most interesting and informative of its kind available in Japanese (especially considering that Eastern VGM composers sometime tend to be pretty xenophilic while keeping distances from domestic fans, as somebody in this industry pointed out...).

Really sad news... I think it's better save all interviews if the website ends.

Yeah, I was bummed to read news of GA-CORE's pending closure...
Selling soundtracks is by no means a solid business, unfortunately.

What? No! Anyone who collects game soundtracks has at least one CD by Scitron.
