EDIT: also, the flute sample in Church / Graveyard from Zelda TP is likely from one of the Zero-G Ethnic libraries (I found it in a Reason Refill demo for Ethnic Flavours, but it's probably originally from 1 or 2 I'm guessing).
Did you manage to find the guitar parts from Jin Kazama's theme?

I'm just guessing, but juding how similarily those samples were processed.
I think that riff was hacked together from different libraries.

East West - Steve Stevens and E-MU Heavy Guitars.

I'll give it a try.

Can anyone identify where the vocal sample in this track is from? It almost sounds like it could be a field recording of a rural tribe, possibly African. A member of the VGMdb Discord suggested it may have come from Spectrasonics - Heart of Africa, but we don't currently have a way of checking.

"Hallelujah / ハレルヤ" from Kurenai (紅)

Composer/Arranger: Hideki Higuchi (樋口秀樹)

Still wondering about this one! It's used also at the start of the legendary Moving Flare.

Darkstalkers 2 has three movie lines in its intro:

And here more clearly:

A clue left by tumblr user castledvania on zooweephantom's page:
https://zooweephantom.tumblr.com/pos...kZgBjZ7I96jLro

They speak of a 1987 French Sci-Fi Film.

That film is Gandahar (11:30 onwards contains the three lines, requires a little editing to see all three lines synchronized in the intro).

Default Awesome thread!

Yo this thread is amazing! Hope i can contribute some new stuff as well!

First of there's this one:

https://youtu.be/TM2YqbsEzp0?si=eOpJiTpuc71OWfFA

And this/these one(s):
https://youtu.be/Cla5XspOG-o?si=-_hRHgWYHeibtMyP dinosaur planet
https://youtu.be/vTTwh8g0z68?si=Tu6TJpdgQuhaKraR Star fox adventures version

Both drumloops are from Q up Arts: Voice of Native America, sample is called 'Big Low D'

As for another sample in the start of the DP/SFA track, i think same pack also had that flute sound.

When i get home this weekend i'll check my packs and notes.

Also there's a whole spreadsheet detailing what gear/samples were used in the old Rare games here
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...t?usp=drivesdk

Anyway, i actually came upon this thread looking for monster hunter sample from this
https://youtu.be/k5ttgUkGI1s?si=jvvDYjv0G2VgXFCO

Anybody know where i can find that sample/loop? It is also used in the DP demo back at e3, here is an example in an hour video, its the very first thing you hear
https://youtu.be/cOVBRJToVDY?si=fhOcRw8sbdc7doza

I've been looking forever and can't find it

Note edit: also gonna note that Frank Klepacki used alot of synths/loops and drumloops from the Methods of Mayhem Library for the Early Command & Conquer games and Red Alert 2

Also, the demo (at least) for "BLUES OD" on Synth Mania sounds similar to Shuffle or Boogie (I wonder if the guy of SM is hinting at FFVIII with the demo ).

"SURF GUITAR" from Roland SC-88 would likely have been used in FFVII Electric de Chocobo. There's also that heartbeat FX thingy from FFVII in there, once again though, don't know the patch nor sample name/s.

"ORCHESTRA" (rhythm set) from Roland SC-88 definitely contains the drum sample from Qu's Marsh et al from FFIX. EDIT: Well, that went quick - another sample from a FFIX track that also has the aforementioned drum sample: "Strings Sect. 2" - used in Cid's theme.

Something of the "3D PIPE" demo on the SC-880 page reminds me of the pipe in FFIX Madain Sari. Or possibly FFX Yuna's Decision. I think SC-88 has one of the samples from those anyway.

"Afro Split" from SC-88 is in FFX Between the Trials, I'm quite sure.
[/list]
Yeah Square Used Roland Sound Canvasses from SNES era till FFX atleast, i saw an interview also where Nobuo mentions he wrote the entirety of FF8 using the Roland SC88, now where i saw that interview i have no idea anymore
