I'm not sure who made those edits. I don't think that's the tracklist I put up 3 years ago, but we didn't log all the changes back then. We look kind of silly with some of these, and this is a popular soundtrack, so we need to do some re-translation.

I think 4-08 should just be "Hurry Up!", like the iTunes translation.

3-05, 3-18, 4-18: Gaia, the world of the game, is frequently referred to as a star rather than a planet.
In Japanese 星 is often used to refer to a planet (or any celestial body I'd guess) so in this case it should be planet.

Yeah, it's often a catch-all term for any astral stuff, maybe is more poetical or something (for example in the Chrono series this is used in "the planet's dream" catchphrase and related stuff iirc). So I think its clear it just means "planet" here, having "star" in English doesn't make much sense.

Should "Rufus's Welcoming Ceremony" be "Rufus' Welcoming Ceremony" to be consistent with "Turks' Theme"?

It probably should be "Rufus' Welcoming Ceremony" rather than "Rufus's Welcoming Ceremony" but I'm not 100% sure on rules governing possessives. I think it's along the same lines as a last name ending in s, you don't write Simmons's, you write Simmons'.

"Rufus' Welcoming Ceremony" is grammatically correct, but that's not the issue.

The issue is that the two titles I mentioned appear inconsistent, because they use different styles: one with the s dropped, and one with the s on the end. While one is plural and another is singular, I feel it should be consistent across the whole album (and also I just don't like how "s's" looks). But this is Prime Blue's translation, so I'm asking first.

Since they are different situations, I think we should just leave it as is.

I'm fine with leaving it as is. No further arguments from me.

Can somebody explain to me what "cinco" is? Is it some kind of thing in music or something? I can't find anything on "cinco" or "syncho", which is another translation I've seen of シンコ.

I figure it's a reference to Cinco de Mayo

I've always figured that as well, but that still doesn't make any sense to me XD Or is it supposed to be music in... Cinco de Mayo style? It's very strange.

Cinco is Spanish for 5. The song is in a 5/4 time signature, which is fairly unusual to find in music, making it the special feature of the arrangement, and hence the name.

My hero dude. It is in 5/4, isn't it. I really wanted to do something with the number 5, but I stupidly didn't think to count out the beats in a measure. Nice, this reminds me of 5 point Five

Doesn't 4.06 sound like something Hiroki Kikuta would write?

Unfortunately outside of his old stuff (Seiken 2 & 3, Soukaigi, Koudelka - all of which I liked especially SD2), I am not familiar enough with his style to make a judgement on this particular FFVII track. Heck, the SD2 soundtrack itself is quite varied.

Since you seem to be a big fan of his, what would you recommend of his works from 2000 to now? I guess his "Lost Files" and "Alphabet Planet" solo albums would be the next logical step.
