CDJapan is listing a cd as a preorder bonus. Details here

"The bonus CD will be a special CD containing the secret sound source of NieR: Automata.
※ Details of bonus CD will be announced at a later date."

I'll definitely will be picking this up as the music for the first game was phenomenal.

After listening to the music in the demo, I cannot state how excited I am for this release.

According to Square Enix website, there will be a 12cm CD bonus for those who preorder the OST. Nice!

As in a normal size CD, not the 8cm mini-CD (think PSP game size) that is often used as a bonus disc.

I pre-ordered the OST via Play-Asia but on the page description it reads "3 CDs". I'm assuming the pre-order bonus period is over?

EDIT: After contacting CS, they said they couldn't confirm that I was going to get the pre-order bonus. So I cancelled my pre-order with P-A.

I see the album is now digitally on Amazon JP, when can we expect it to hit iTunes? Did the original Nier OST come out on iTunes on the day of release?

Everything from SE hits iTunes simultaneously with the physical release nowadays. Here's the iTunes JP link (English text version).

It'd be nice to have it on the NA iTunes as well to avoid having extra charges for currency conversion on my card. Still, thanks for the link!

No problem. I think the schedule is maintained for NA iTunes too but it's time zone dependent (right now it's 29th in Japan, not in the US).

So excited for this. The new versions of Grandma & Song of the Ancients are so damn good. But "A Beautiful Song" is my favorite so far.

It's now available on Amazon & iTunes in the US. iTunes is cheaper. I'm going to buy it off Amazon and then get a lossless rip somewhere online. Wish there was a better solution to getting lossless than having to get the discs or bootleg.

After listening to the Youtube rips for months, now that I finally own this I can say that MONACA did it: They composed a soundtrack better than the original Nier OST. I still haven't gotten around to play Automata, but the music tells me I'm gonna enjoy the heck out of the game.

That is listed at the bottom of the album page where applicable.

Yes I do have the booklet, but it only lists singers of Weight of the World, not the others...

For anyone wondering, the arrangement credits come from here: http://www.e-onkyo.com/music/album/s...sicAlbumCredit

The booklet only lists "Music by" for each track.

I'm not exactly sure which part of able1214's question is so hard to understand, but the way I read it is that able1214 wants to know who--specifically--is singing on all of the songs that aren't "Weight of the World". There are eight different people listed for vocal/chorus, and I assume every single one of them isn't singing on every track that has vocals.

Yeah. I was curious of this as well. Singers are credited but not necessarily vocalists for songs like "The Tower".

Exactly, thanks for the clarification. I fighured out most songs are sung by Emi Evans and J'Nique Nicole since the vocals are pretty distinguishable, the rest are just credited to the choir. The only thing I'm wondering now is who is this "Saki Ishii" (I want the actual Japanese name). As far as I know, he is the singer for "Treasured Times" and "Pascal".

Most of the "ethnic" singing is done by Nami Nakagawa, just like in NieR and Drakengard 3. For example, "Possessed by Disease".

The soundtrack made the second position on Oricon (Japan charts).
It has sold 30,000 units the first week, [s]it is the most sold game soundtrack[/s] :O

Damn, it sucks that the liner notes are rather incomplete due to individual tracks lacking vocalist credits.

In VGM we often are lucky if we get per track credits for composers, let alone musician credits.
