More info on this album (in Japanese) here and here. Looks cool, too bad there are probably like five copies.

Most of the composition info is from game credits. Specific composer info for tracks 8-10 comes from Google cache of a page about another promo CD I'll be adding in a minute.

So this basically confirms that "shmup", a phrase written in lowercase that is short for 'shoot them up' or 'shoot 'em up', is a worldwide term and can be considered THE name for this genre.
