Release date got from here:

http://members.fortunecity.com/anidi...cdVDR1308.html

I'm not sure about the price, some soundtracks database have it listed at 3200 yen, others at 3008.

EDIT
I'll confess my japanese is pretty rusty, but I think I've got the performer credits from this snapshot off the OVA VHS:

The two prices are probably both correct. The higher one would be with tax included, and the lower without. I fixed the credits a little, but I still don't know for sure whether that one kana is a プ or a ブ, since the image is pretty blurry.

Found an Amazon Page for this.

Also, found this stuff related to the animation, but I can't find much info about them:

original soundtrack / outlanders [LP RECORD] (Catalog: JBX-28002) [ALL THE INFO I COULD FIND]

Vinyl release of the Soundtrack

starry eyes / outlanders [EP RECORD] (Catalog: KV-3076) [ALL THE INFO I COULD FIND]

I suppose this 7inch contains the tracks that were later included in the CD release of the Original Soundtrack.

outlanders [LD] (Catalog: VIJL-1005)

LaserDisc version of... What?! Could it be the Soundtrack?

I'd like to know where the thing about track 8 coming from NES comes from
unless I'm totally blind, it's nowhere mentioned in the booklet

so, I preferred not to edit that part for the moment

http://www.mobygames.com/game/nes/outlanders

I own the game cartridge, I can confirm it presented a 8-bit version of T#01 "Outlanders - Main Theme".

there is still no mention of any "FC" in the booklet

and why did you show a link to that site?
I never said there wasn't no outlanders game, I just tell you that there is no FC in the liner notes of the booklet

Shouldn't it be BGM from the NES game, not for the game? Wouldn't suprise if it was used in the anime somehow.

maybe the anime has a video game part like there is in druaga aegis when heroes change into nes characters

because, honestly, if it really is from the nes game, they should have mentioned it in the booklet at least :/

I just rewatched the OVA, for some assurance, that track isn't used in it. The OVA is a super-condensed adaptation of the manga, it doesn't have game-like parts. Track 8 has the opening music for the NES game, as well as other BGM, that's it. If you want confirmation, just look at this way - The track's title and the fact that the only game based on OUTLANDERS was made for the NES... Not much, I agree, but that's all there is to it. You can search for both the OVA and the ROM dump on the internet and get these answers yourself, Google be blessed. Anyway, this is not the first time tracks featured on the disc aren't mentioned anywhere, right? The first example that comes to my mind is Reunion Tracks/FINAL FANTASY VII: I may not read japanese very well, but I don't see the hidden One-Winged Angel track mentioned in its booklet.... Or even Killer Cuts, enclosed with Killer Instinct... Let's just accept it the way it was made, no need for headaches.

Actually, there was also a version made for the PC-88 home computer. It has several of the same music tracks as the FC version.

The thing I find strange is that this CD was released in 1986, while the FC game wasn't released until December 1987. The PC game wasn't released until 1988. How could this have music from a game that most likely wasn't even in development yet?

(If you've played the game, it's pretty obvious it spent about a month in development...amazingly, it's actually possible to finish though! Nearly impossible without a walkthrough though...)
