As isdapi said in the unromanized artists thread, Hiroshi Minami could be a wrong romanization of Hiroyuki Minami. However, I think that Hiroshi is the correct and Hiroyuki is the wrong romanization of this horn player.
First, Drillspin gives the name reading as Hiroshi. Also, a post from this blog talk about the 60th birthday party of a horn player named Hiroshi Minami. As far as I understand from Google Translator result, it’s written by a horn student. If he is the same person of this profile, I’m more inclined to believe in a person supposedly close to him. However, there are more credits as Hiroyuki rather than Hiroshi. In other albums he is credited with the kanji name. You may be right about his name being Hiroshi and not Hiroyuki. If there is a website of which I trust the most is MPN (Music People's Nest), I haven't found a single incorrect reading of the musicians' names registered in their database, and in this page and this other one his name is given as "ミナミ ヒロシ" (Hiroshi Minami). Nevertheless, I have found no mention of "Hiroshi Minami Group" that should be the correct name of his group of horn players.
It's a difficult case, because there are many credits pointing in both directions. |

His facebook address is .../hiroshi.minami.1217
Should we go with Hiroshi? Last edited by whatkind; Oct 30, 2017 at 03:49 PM. |

He also has Hiroshi Minami in the other "Other Names" section on his Facebook. Good find.
Yeah, it should be changed. It's not a quick change though considering he's credited on over 100 albums and we've been using Hiroyuki the whole time (partly because many albums romanize his name as such). |

And don't forget "Hiroyuki Minami Group".
If we change his display name I don't see why his eponymous (french) horn group shouldn't follow suit. Although, I have yet to find a single instance where this group name is given as Hiroshi Minami Group. |
