Game discs that double as CDFS and CD-Audio: should these be posted on VGMdb?
There's a specific example I have, Outwars released by Microsoft in 1998 for PC. Each of the two game discs doubles as an install disc (ISO-9660 specification) and an audio CD (CDDA specification) that you can insert into any CD player.
In other words, if you own the game discs, you own the soundtrack, and vice versa. There's not much difference between this, and just bundling the music in a lossless format in the game directory itself. You do, however, get an official track listing (but no track titles). So should I post this? |

IMO if it wasn't advertised as game and soundtrack, and thus does not have track titles, it shouldn't be listed. Redbook audio is awesome, but if it isn't promoted as "oh here's the soundtrack, and here's the tracklist" -- it wasn't ever a real soundtrack.
Other games like this that come to mind are Mechwarrior 2 and Return to Zork. |

Looking at some history of this db, red book audio on a game disc isn't accepted even if it has tracklist in the booklet & advertisements & such so either way the answer would be no.

Hell, most Sega CD games had redbook audio.

Someone needs to just take it on themselves to list all these redbook cds somewhere, and they have my full encouragement
