Final Fantasy XI (#206)

Ages ago we decided that an MMO's expansion (and add-ons) would deserve a product slot, now I've added them and those Releases need to migrate to each entry.

I guess it's also necessary to have Final Fantasy XI as a franchise, for somebody who wants to see the list of all the FFXI-related albums.

Did we actually decide that? I was still under the impression that MMO expansions would just be releases (and likewise, that Season 2 of a TV series would also be release).

Well, I'm reading the old log in the staff forum, and you said you'd go with a separate entry for all 3 three Guild Wars expansions, including Eye of the North which we couldn't play without the original game. There could have been another discussion, but I don't remember. I had the same impression (and that's why I initially didn't add them separately).

Anyway, it's good to have an open discussion.

Was it released outside of Japan? I thought FFXI was localized after the RoZ expansion was out in Japan, so it was included by default for U.S./EU players.

Anyways, I've admittedly left these entries unsolved for so long, but now I'd keep all expansions and add-on releases as a sub-product of the FFXI, not a separate entry, which meant it require some deletion and linking works.

You are right that it was already attached to the main shipment of the game for the rest of the world.

Adding the name probably might be helpful.

With that thought on FFXI, should this also happen with other MMORPGs or even normal games that add DLC, Add-ons and Expansions that may include extra music?

Age of Conan, Guild Wars or World of Warcraft as an example for MMORPGs

Dragon Age, Mass Effect for non MMOs
