Can anyone clarify as to why this album is titled "Operation Europe"? Other translations suggest "European Front" or "European Theater".

Because it was an official localized title.

That makes sense. But wouldn't it be more accurate to take a literal translation of the Japanese title? For instance, you wouldn't rename Akumajou Dracula to "Castlevania".

We don't literally translate a game's proper name for multiple reasons (e.g. "Demon Castle Dracula") so while "Operation Europe" and "Europe Sensen" aren't the same, I think it's not our principal task (but perhaps GameFAQs or Wikipedia's) to tell what the original title was supposed to mean. Maybe we should use "Operation Europe" as the alternate title, though.

That being said, I'm not sure if the current entry is correct (if this soundtrack was for the first PC-8801 game released in 1991, which wasn't apparently localized outside of Japan, should we include PC, Sega Mega Drive and SNES, and is it eligible to use Operation Europe (:Path to Victory 1939-45) as the alternate title?)
