Here is a list of missing tracks for posterity:

- Jazz/piano in Chicago (might not be original?)
- Asian cutscene (Mao sidequest)
- Love cutscene (Mao sidequest)
- Sushi dungeon (Hilda sidequest)
- Momonga dungeon (Frank sidequest)
- After defeating the final boss (short track)
- Good ending (short track)
- ~16 guitar jingles (Ricardo's songs)
- Short version of the goofy song from SH2.

2-04 doesn't play in the game, at least not in the US version, and 2-29 only plays a few seconds.

The other SH OSTs have all tracks IIRC. And like these, the music in this OST sound slightly different compared to the game.

"Dead Fingers Talk" is likely my favorite track in the entire series. Don't know exactly why, but it's pinnacle stuff. Kudos, Hirota!

Unfortunately, with the exception of a few good tracks, the rest of the album doesn't do anything for me. If it weren't for "DFT", this album would be a complete flop.

Seconded on "Dead Fingers Talk" as being the highlight of the album. It's a pretty unique mix of Native American-esque chants accompanied by haunting vocals, a subdued distorted guitar, "frog hop"-sounding bass (?), and an overall mostly dark tone. Very nice.'

Although I wouldn't go as far as to call the rest of the OST as a complete flop - it would have to be a lot more boring and personality-less for me to consider it a flop. We'll be nice and say it satisfactorily performs its role as an "RPG Soundtrack".

In any case, shame Sacnoth/Nautilus no longer exists.

To put it bluntly, cultural differences.
“DFT”Although good,But as an Asian, the rest of the album has a lot of ethnic characteristics, which suits us very well.
I think the music is very close to the content of the game, there is nothing disappointing about it

Unfortunately, that is pretty much where I landed on this one. It feels MUCH more toned down than the other two SH soundtracks, almost confused as to what it wants to do most of the time. I'm going back and trying to pick up the games before they get stupidly expensive, so good time to revisit the music.

As for favorite tracks, The Land of Spirits, Pirates of the Caribbean (ARRR!!!), Bythos and the appearances of the Icaro theme are the rare highlights. The rest of it...exists. A track named SABBATH -Devil's Banquet- shouldn't be as boring as it is.

Don't know, I think they're already there. For example, I was gonna buy Xenosaga III last year until I talked myself out of it. That was a good talk, I needed to straighten myself out on that one.

I honestly don't buy retro games anymore. Don't get me wrong, I like many of those games but despite my best intentions, I buy said retro game and then NEVER get around it. It's a cycle I need to break. Have a better track record playing releases for modern platforms even if so many of the games are remakes and ports.

Xenosaga III is a bit of an extreme case. I think you can get decent copies of all three Shadow Hearts games for about what XS3 goes for nowadays. And even then, I don't see a compelling reason for XS3 to fall from where it is. I just feel like we're in that window where if there's something you've been waiting to get for awhile, get it before the price balloons, like it did on SNES and PS1 stuff. My shopping list of PS2 games is really short...mostly RPG's that fell under the radar. So just better to rip the band-aid off and get it done.
