Default Capitalisation?

I was just wondering... what is VGMdb's policy on capitalisation of album titles? For instance, FFXIII's soundtrack is "Final Fantasy XIII Original Soundtrack", while the Original Sound Selection is "FINAL FANTASY XIII Original Sound Selection". There are a number of other inconsistent differences. (Sorry if this is a triviality; D= )

I'd say that in general, the policy is to follow the capitalization of the cover or obi if it seems clear that the way they capitalized was intentional, which is usually evidenced by the use of mixed case. We're not all in 100% agreement on some of the global guidelines for the title, so it's still discretionary on an album by album basis.

We (try to) maintain the casing specified by the publisher. So if one is all upper case and another is in proper case it's because that's the way they were published (with some exceptions, there are some where people went ahead and made the display title proper case... which should probably be fixed.)

See, I hate that. Even if the original is in all upper case I usually change it anyway (on my local files). I think it's only purpose is to annoy me.

The problem with "album by album basis" is you will see series that have inconsistent casing across albums when the the casing for albums in one or more of those series are generally published pretty consistently. I think we should have a few standards in place and deviate from them only if there is good reason to.

For starters: "Final Fantasy" or "FINAL FANTASY"?

I dislike using capitalisation of the albums, really, and don't see why it can't all be kept in normal title caps, i.e. Video Game Music not VIDEO GAME MUSIC. I completely understand though that it should all be kept to what it's like on the obi/album cover... as frustrating as it seems.
