Default Can anyone identify this Super Metroid album?

Howdy all! I posted this in the "Super Metroid Sound in Action" discussion page... But it seems to be deserted.

Anyway, I found this disc for sale on eBay (and for only $50... I may have regretted not buying it before it was snatched up) but the disc image is like none I've ever seen. Every copy of this album looks like the one that's pictured here on this site but this one is different. Can anyone identify this release for me?

The seller on eBay sells CD-Rs. It's a fake. His other items are $50 "fan-made" cds of soundtracks that were never released. At least the Taiwanese bootlegs have the courtesy of being cheap.

Has anyone ever bought a legitimate game music release off eBay? I don't know how many sellers I've messaged asking for a catalog number and they reply with one corresponding to a bootleg. Same with Amazon.

champ_des_pins sells legitimate releases only. I've bought of him a couple of times, great seller.

If you do an advanced search on eBay and add in bootleg sellers' names as you find them you can filter them out and make searching easier in the long run (save the search for later). However, eBay's non-action on dealing with bootlegs mostly killed the market for people listing on there; it doesn't help that they pretty much gave up on eBay Japan many years ago because they couldn't compete with Yahoo there (and it's sad it is vice-versa in the US because Yahoo auctions has the anti-sniping clock reset which is so nice)

Well glad I didn't buy it then! Thanks everyone for the info. Is about $300-350 an average price for this CD?!

BTW, I've bought plenty of good, official albums on eBay. I ALWAYS ask for a picture of the actual item if there isn't one and a catalog number. But I've gotten many on eBay. Champ-des-Pins, Otaku, Japanese-Seller are all great sellers. Though, if you find a CD from Otaku you're better off buying from his store. He marks the prices up a tad on eBay.

I think I'll report this guy to eBay then. He managed to sell another copy today for $50...

I found a legit copy of Jumping Flash! 1 & 2 off ebay, and then later I saw the same seller selling a bootleg of Ocarina of Time. But it's easy to identify bootlegs on ebay: they have a reasonable price!
