Default N/A: Perfect Dark Dual CD Soundtrack

Did Louise Tilston really do the voice on track 17 of disc 2? I read on IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0271111/) that Eveline Fischer does the voice of Joanna Dark.

I don't think it's Joanna talking at 0:24. So I'd say that it is indeed Louise Tilston.

It's definitely Joanna Dark. That's her line in the game. She says it in dayaDyne Research: Investigation to one of the lab technicians during the "Shut Down Experiments" mission. Definitely should be Eveline Fischer.

Ah, yes, that's got to be right. Been quite a while since I last played this game, gotta play it sometime soon again, starting to forget this beautiful game.

It is a great game, but I really enjoy it for its multiplayer. The single player aspect wasn't my cup of tea. I enjoy Goldeneye 64 much more for that. I haven't played Perfect Dark in quite a while, but only because all my siblings moved away, so I have no one to play with :P

I believe that's cobbled together from multiple sources.

Graeme Norgate lists those two pieces on his website.

Music 4 Games had an interview with Dave Clynick where he listed his compositions: cutscenes, Crash Site and Attack Ship stages, and the multiplayer themes.

Everything else I think was chucked in the Grant Kirkhope column. Clynick does mention in that same interview that Kirkhope did most of the music. Kirkhope's talked about the music in at least one interview (this Tepid Seat interview with the Rare sound team where he talks about how memory restrictions affected how he composed the credits theme), but I don't think he's ever fully confirmed all the music he wrote for the game.

Wow, that's some pretty good digging... or just reading all the right websites regularly. Really interesting to see Norgate's website. It's hard not to stop and jam to some Blast Corps - where was the soundtrack release for that one, guys!

Thanks for the info. I don't actually own a physical copy of the Perfect Dark soundtrack, so I wasn't sure if there was a booklet that hadn't been scanned or something.

Edit: Never mind, what I was looking for was already in the notes.

Again, please do not put the vocal classification for .. less than 10 seconds of voice.

This is a big debate in the current guideline restructurations, i suggest you have a look at the whole thread HERE.

For now "Vocal Album - for discs that are *mostly* vocal".

We've been doing this since the beginning i think.
Until the new guidelines are accepted, i think you should not change the classifications (at least not without saying a word on the board).

Yeah, the current guidelines will probably stay in affect until we can assign classifications to tracks, after which we'll implement a new way to do this.

It is! You have to look for the reprint... here if you don't find it.

I've got a weird question about this release, on the off-chance somebody how owns it is here. My local library has a copy of the Dual CD soundtrack, so I borrowed it to rip, but the second CD doesn't behave normally. It's reading as a data disc which contains files to install exegcc and Nintendo 64 OS2.0L.

I'm really curious why those would have made their way onto an OST, but I can't find any hits about it online. Does anybody have any info on this?

Even without checking this, I don't remember anything about asking to install those two you mentioned.

edit: it doesn't ask me to install anything and this is what shows if I explore the audio cd http://i.imgur.com/mcQEJ4U.png?1

Thanks for checking! I don't get any autorun installs, but all of the files and readmes are there and seem to be functional. Here's what shows up for me: http://i.imgur.com/5ib3SYj.png?1

Any suggestions for other communities to ask would be cool.

Have to say it seems rather interesting. Could contain some development data used for the game maybe? I would check with AssemblerGames, GBAtemp or maybe hcs64 if you haven't done so already.

Question to anyone that owns a physical copy of the soundtrack:

Someone is offering to sell me a copy of this soundtrack and they were kind enough to provide pictures of the soundtrack beforehand. The seller believes everything is original, but I noticed that the vertical "2 CD" (on the two cases that I have seen pictures of) are white whereas the one that is being offered to me is colored black and horizontal.

Since the seller was not the original owner of the soundtrack, they're not sure if the case was switched out at some point, but I was just curious if anyone had a similar case on their copy.

Thanks.

I don't see what you'r talking about, you should post links to picture(s) please.
The current scans in the entry is all you should get, unless there is an alternate version.

Sorry if I was not very clear before, but I was referring to the actual jewel case; not the interior contents.

I thought it would be easier to use this image since the "2 CD" is pretty clear on the copy in this picture, but the copy that I am thinking of buying has a black, embossed "2 CD" in a different layout. Same general area, though.

Could be that the case was replaced by another one... I don't think it's the most important thing to look at.
You should always try to have pictures of the disc(s) when buying physical copies.
