http://www.geocities.co.jp/Hollywood/4764/gmcd/cd2f.htm
contains detailed arrange information. I'm not sure if this is information from the booklet but maybe they're worth mentioning in the arranger field as some already have their vgmdb profiles. |

16 is Strange Bloodline and 17 is Wandering Ghosts on the printed tracklist, if you view the back cover. Are they really switched? freedbtest doesn't indicate so.

No, it should be as the printed cover states.

@Gigablah, Trust me Wandering Ghosts is 3:43, and Strange Bloodline is 2:59. I have no idea if was meant to be a typo. If you want a proof I can email both tracks to you.
Edit: @seanne, If you had said that to me sometime ago then I would have taken your advice, after had gone through many albums I can say, for me the most important thing is what is in the CD, I mean the "content of a CD". By your saying we should take the track names and track lengths if the back cover states that. I say that is plain wrong. What is on the CD back cover is important and that should be kept as a reference, but that is all. Well this is a rare case where both tracks are on an incorrect order taking the CD back cover as a reference. Now take the contents of a CD as a reference, we have the opposite. Now imagine you are listening to Wandering Ghosts that is actually not Wanderings Ghosts, is that ok? just because the CD back cover says so? and don't forget users get track names via the VGMdb freedb. Misspellings, typos, some kinds of errors being intentional or not of tracknames are passable. This case is not what I would call passable at all. Last edited by Metroid; Oct 16, 2009 at 11:10 PM. |

So the back liner has been misprinted? You've confirmed that with the original cd? There are at least a couple of other albums in the database with this problem but I don't think we have a set thing that we do in these cases. In my opinion we should go with the printed tracklist and just add a note about the mistake in the notes field, just like we do with other types of misprints.

Well, for misprints (not typos), we do correct the track titles in the tracklist (there's been cases where entire sections of tracknames were transposed). But make sure to mention it in the notes section to prevent confusion.
Sorry for the trouble Metroid, please go ahead and submit the corrections again. |

Thanks Seanne and Gigablah for had understood my standpoint. I'm with Gigablah, cases like this we should correct tracknames and leave in the notes as a reference of that change.

I submitted a change for track 20, since I think it's important to use "Distant Triumphant Return" instead of "Beginning" when the original liner notes do so...

So... I'm massively confused by this one. Two different sets of track names were switched with each other, right? 8 and 10 were switched with each other, 16 and 17 were switched with each other. But in our tracklist... 8 and 10 were not corrected while 16 and 17 were?
I remember GrimGrimoire having a tracklist issue, and in that entry, we have a (Printed) tracklist and a (Corrected) tracklist. Is that what we need to do here? Because right now this is really weird. |

That's a good idea. I think that makes the most sense to do.

to match the japanese tracklist, english tracks 16 and 17 should be interchanged

I switched 16 and 17 so that at least it matches the printed content in whole.

What is a "GameSound Simulation"?

Those are MIDI renderings of the originals note-for-note without any embellishments, in contrast to the other tracks which are more heavily arranged.
