Actually you're all wrong, it isn't OoP anymore. You can still order it at Sega Direct. I'll place my order after I finished some deals with one of the VGMdb-staff.

Could be printing more after Sega Direct went down and came back again under Enterbrain umbrella.
It may or may not have the bonus DVD which came with the first press. http://ebten.jp/sega/p/4571164389202/ Good to know they've got more stock of everything though, there's a few albums inbetween which I missed and might go back and pick them up now Last edited by Carl; Aug 31, 2008 at 01:29 PM. |

Phew... that took long. Finally got to upload all the scans (I had actually finished scanning it last sunday, but I just hadn't the time to upload them). Oh, and sorry, but I'm not scanning the booklet; it's impossible to scan it without completely ruining it, and this baby costs quite a penny ;p.
Now, there's something I wanted to point out that left me quite surprised when I got the box: the current Bonus DVD back scanis wrong, actually, it's from a completely different case altogether. But the funny bit is that it's an empty sealed case, labeled as OutRun 20th anniversary Disc: Disc SP Out Run Sound Tracks - Complement -, which sounds quite familiar. I looked it up, and found out that indeed the tracklist on the case matches the one on the Bonus CD for the Japanese PS2 version of Outrun 2 SP. Both the box and the game came out wihtin a difference of few days, which brings up a clear connection. My (completely hypothetical) guess is that maybe the Bonus CD for the game was planned independently, and Wave Master was too far ahead on the production on the box to include it as a regular cd, so they included the case as a little extra. Or maybe it was just another preordering gimmick to make you go after both the game and the box. That aside, this raises a few questions: - Should I add the scans of this extra case to the OutRun Sound Tracks -Complement- entry? - Should the Complement soundtracks be considered as part of the box and therefore add it to the tracklist? I'm guessing a yes and a no, but you you have the word. |

Tarnya did OutRun 3-D, according to Masaru Setsumaru.

When I think that the original game is four songs, and spawned a 11 CDs box...

The booklet only credits Kouzaki & Shiratsu for porting the Genesis OutRunners tracks, Hataya & Kashima aren't listed even though they're in the game's credits.

I wonder if the copies which are available now are old stocks or real reprints?
The title says "※12月上旬お届け", which would indicate a reprint. Or does it refer to December 2006, when you could start ordering it for the February 2007 release? I'm confused. Last edited by LuxKiller65; Dec 23, 2015 at 09:10 PM. |

Hate to tell you, but, you forgot that OutRun 2 is Xbox. So I don't see the system it represents

Just want to throw out there, in case anyone is looking for this, that Sega Ebten just listed some of their OOP Wave Master albums for close to (usually a bit more than) their original retail prices, including this box set. Even after proxy shipping costs it's still cheaper than buying a second hand copy, so I'd jump on this before it sells out. https://ebten.jp/sega/p/4571164389202

I bought mine in 2015 (see post above), I am not sure these are actual reprints, I suspect they are most likely unsold stock? Very tempting but too bad the After Burner set isn't part of this comeback!
as of this moment, there are 8 pieces left in stock Last edited by LuxKiller65; Dec 15, 2018 at 09:54 PM. |

The tracks from the Mega Drive version of OutRunners here mostly credit Tatsuya Kouzaki and Junko Shiratsu for porting all of the tracks. The prospect of them arranging dozens of short tracks together seems a bit far-fetched, to be honest; my guess is that Sega only had incomplete credit documentation for that game, so maybe the tracks that credit them individually were the only credits they preserved. Naofumi Hataya is also credited in-game, and I've always felt the version of Sonic Control present here is very close to his work on The Hybrid Front OST - the use of blues scale, instrumentation, and overall structuring feels like Hataya.
Of course, I can't rule it out that they literally did arrange all those tracks together. But it seems a bit strange to me. |
