I'm not sure who on the internet initially thought that Koichi Yamazaki was pentagon by himself (I noticed that the blurb on him in
CFCL-3 mentions releasing music "under the name PENTAGON"), but it's actually a duo.

PENTAGON PROFILE
================
Pentagon is a Japanese duo consisting of DJ/Producer Mitsukuni Murayama and Producer Kouichi Yamazaki. Straight coming from the Tokyo suburb of Ryogoku (which till now was only known for its very successful sumo arena) they are more than just faces in the drum&bass circus. Mitsukuni has been a DJ since 1994 and a professionally instructed jazzguitarplayer; he was also the first Japanese drum&bass solo artist to bring out an LP (Warez - New script, impartmaint Rec.). He and Kouichi met seven years ago, while working for Sony Playstation, producing the soundtrack to the well-known game "Granturismo" - part one!
Since their days stuck hard in the studio they have created some of the lush and soulful drum'n'bass we have seen. In Germany he has worked with a number of labels including Hard Edged and Precision Breakbeat Research, as well as releasing music on Krush Grooves and Maui Music. His name is getting known across the planet and here in the UK Pascal from Tru Playaz signed a single for his Frontline imprint.
And also in 2003 Pentagon are resident DJ's at a night in Tokyo called "Infinity" and they are hosting a monthly event by the name of "Numbers", and SHIBUYA-FM. The Pentagon story continued as Mitsukuni played at the Kool FM Pirate station in London together with the well known Brockie, using the contacts he made in the UK he soon represented his sound with DJ's like Ed Rush, DJ Marky, Brian G, DJ Ron,and JUJU...The Pentagon crew is also co producing the United Future Organisation (UFO) in Japan.
Pentagon bringsthe funk, the soul and the warmth.
