Yousuke Yasui (#1563)
Do the first four albums on Yousuke Yasui's discography actually feature him, or is it just sloppy linking?
1992 Dec 16 Sing!! Street Fighter II [PCCB-00103] / Performer (as YOU) 1993 Sep 17 STREET FIGHTER II Collector's BOX [VHS] [PCCB-00124] / Performer (as YOU) Sep 17 STREET FIGHTER II Collector's BOX [LASER DISC] [PCCB-00125] / Performer (as YOU) 1996 Sep 20 Tonzurakun Original Soundtrack [PCCGX00002] / Performer (as YOU) |

Pretty sure it's the former. Yasui wasn't in the scene back then and I don't think YOU has been confirmed as an alias of his.

ahh, my bad, I was linking up Vocal tracks by YOU and the Streetfighers had shown up in the lineup.
Tonzurakun Original Soundtrack [PCCGX00002] / Performer (as YOU) is confirmed, at least the alias (no real name shown), I just got that disc. There must be a female Vocalist with the alias YOU instead. Last edited by Carl; Mar 29, 2009 at 06:15 AM. |

I'll remove the link for those four credits, then.

Just curious, are there any other cases where multiple artists are using the same alias?
If we leave YOU as an alias on Yasui's profile, and then have a new female vocalist profile also with an alias of YOU, it could result in the same problem later on. YOU is probably this chick from the group Fairchild http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMG_sCP2k4k as Seiji Toda is playing Bass there also. Last edited by Carl; Mar 29, 2009 at 06:49 AM. |

I checked now and it's her on the Tonzura-kun album as well, so I guess the alias for Yousuke Yasui can be removed as it didn't seem to be a confirmed one? Last edited by seanne; Nov 17, 2010 at 09:40 PM. |

What happens is that the artist suggestion dropdown box will list both aliases, and it'll be in a bright shade of red so you know there's two or more different artists with the same name or alias.

Yousuke Yasui's Twitter account is no longer "yousukeyasui." Does anyone know if he just changed to a different name or ditched it entirely? I couldn't find his new one, if he has a new one.
I'm fairly certain this is a completely different dude: http://twitter.com/YosukeYASUI (born in a different place, looks different, doesn't talk about VGM or follow any VGM guys) Last edited by CHz; Jun 4, 2010 at 06:49 PM. |

As for YOU, I'd keep it. When I met him in Tokyo, he signed his autograph for me as YOU.

Mr. Yasui has officially joined VGMdb as a user! He told me he has over 1000 VGM CDs so I think he'll feel right at home among us freaks

I instantly fell in love with the music on the trailer, so I'm really looking forward to it.
With this final push, Yasui has become someone to keep track of in my radar. |

Yasui confirmed for Xbox 360 Shoot'em up Ginga Force (Yack. will be working on that too, aparently)
M-Kai, the director of this game and Eschatos, seems to like Yasui compositions. Last edited by KAI; Aug 1, 2012 at 11:14 AM. |

The game itself doesn't look bad either. Definitely looks more interesting than Eschatos and almost something like a very polished version of Nanostray. |

Note: the trailer says "SuperSweep: Yousuke Yasui, Shinji Hosoe, Ayako Saso, and others," so more 'Sweepers may be composing too.
Can't wait~ |

I'd imagine that at least Takahiro Eguchi will be involved. He seems to be the most prominent Supersweep member out of remainder, at least if his involvement on albums and soundtracks like Nanosweep and Tekken 3D, etc. |

Sound staff update in the official site:
Yosuke Yasui, Shinji Hosoe, Ayako Saso. Kazuhiro Kobayashi, Teruo Taniguchi, Takahiro Eguchi, Yasuhisa Watanabe and Hiroto Saito. Hosoe give us a release date, for god's sake! |

Couldn't find any confirmation with a quick Google, but the recently-released Game Center CX: 3-choume no Arino definitely has some Yasui (and likely other SuperSweep) involvement. I'd recognize that distinct FM sound in Break Shoot any day. Unfortunately I couldn't find any clips longer than a few seconds.
I can't imagine there's any hope of a soundtrack release for this one. |

Updated the Supersweep page on VGMdb. Yasui left some time in 2017 - unsure where he is now or the exact month of his departure.

Well that sucks. He was one of their most talented members. Btw, what's the source for him leaving in 2017?
This page from April 2018 still listed him as a member of SuperSweep: http://www.capcom.co.jp/game/content/rockman/message/ And he was still listed on SuperSweep's website one week ago: http://webcache.googleusercontent.co...&ct=clnk&gl=us |

Saso san, at an in-person meeting last week, told me he left 2 years ago, although she may have meant last year (2018).
Also, from an email from Yasui to me in December 2016, which would line up with a general 2017 timeframe: このままスーパースィープにいる可能性もありますが、来年別の会社に移る可能性もあります。 |
